I had a building installed 2 months ago and the 2- garage doors are not in the track. It took them a month and a half to get somebody to come out. since then i had a floor poured and they will not fix them. i am stuck with garage doors that do not work properly. That should have be installed right the first time. Terrible service!!

      Business response

      09/12/2024

In response to the consumers issue with the roll up doors on the building that was installed in May 2024 the consumer initially contacted about an issue with the doors when the building was installed. The installation crew went back to the consumer the same weekend to inspect the doors to ensure that everything was operating properly to which point it was. The consumer then had concrete poured later which could have caused the tracks on the doors to expand and shift a little due to the concrete pour. A crew was dispatched to the consumers residence to inspect the doors to which they notified that the doors were operating properly and found no fault in the operation of the doors on the building. The crew has sent in a video and pictures of the doors operating properly which we have supplied the pictures but are unable to upload the video.

      Customer response

      09/13/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
They are wrong in their first thing saying that they came back out the weekend after the building was done they never came back out until the date of this complaint The garage doors do not go up properly they're hitting the screws that holds the track. they're not in the track and if somebody with any brains comes out here they'll understand it.

      Business response

      09/24/2024

As we stated we did send the crew back out recently to inspect the doors and they stated that the doors are operating as they should. We will be happy to send another tech out to inspect the doors again if the customer would like us to.

Using carport central in *******, purchased a metal building. Cc hired this group AMERICAN BUILDING NETWORK, to build. When the build was completedafter several delaysI noticed an opening where the cement pad and the steel frame are supposed to flush. As a result of this negligent workmanship, mice entered my building, and chewed the insulation. See pixs. The builder, AMERICAN BUILDING NETWORK, stated the concrete pad was not poured correctly. But get thisthey did not tell me this, until my building was built! WHY WASNT I TOLD WHEN THE STEEL FRAME WAS FIRST BUILT! Talk about a lack of integrity! Plus, this indicates they were willing to LIE, so they didnt have to correct their workmanship negligence! Also, there were areas around the door frame, that had UNSAT work done by this builder. See pixs. Contacted this builder, and was told since the 30 day warranty period had passed, they would not correct any of their workmanship negligence - mistakes. Another indicator of that this group, AMERICAN BUILDING NETWORK could care less about you, the customer, once 30 days have passed. Individuals reading this review, with only a 30 day workmanship warranty, pay particular attention to the quality of the work, since they will not have anything to do with you after the 30 days have passed. FTR, the seller of my building, carport central, had verbally stated the workmanship warranty was ONE YEAR. AMERICAN BUILDING NETWORK, the builder, offers only a 30 day warranty, to not have to do a quality build. Thus, all readers, BUYER BEWARE, and ask for a longer warranty period.

The customers ********************** was installed in February and he had purchased his own insulation for the building to be installed. Upon arrival to the customers location it became aware that the insulation purchased was to run vertically and the building purchased was for horizontal. We incurred the cost of the additional material in order to make the insulation purchased by the customer work. Additionally we discounted the cost of rented pods that the customer used to store his belongings in while awaiting the installation of the building as due to the fact that he had purchased vertical insulation rather than horizontal we had to postpone to another time for installation. Customer made aware of the issue with the mice coming into the building in May as well as an issue with the electric openers on his building. At this point the customer was given a reimbursement in the amount of $1,630.68 for the issues.

I am rejecting this response because:

Inside the parentheses below in CAPS, is my factual input to ***s false statements.

PRIOR TO MY METAL ****************** BEING BUILT BY ***, ***s PARTNER, CARPORT CENTRAL, CONDUCTED A THOROUGH  REVIEW OF MY INSULATION LIST. CARPORT CENTRAL, *****************, TOLD ME THAT THE LIST WAS REVIEWED BY A METAL BUILDING INSULATION INSTALL PROFESSIONAL, AND I WAS TOLD THAT INSULATION THAT I HAD PURCHASED, WAS GOOD TO GO.

Additionally we discounted the cost of rented pods that the customer used to store his belongings in while awaiting the installation of the building as due to the fact that he had purchased vertical insulation rather than horizontal we had to postpone to another time for installation. AGAIN, REGARDING THE CLAIM THAT I HAD PURCHASED THE WRONG INSULATION, SEE MY PREVIOUS COMMENT ABOVE, WHICH DELINEATES THAT ***s PARTNER, CARPORT CENTRAL, TOLD ME THAT THE INSULATION I HAD PURCHASED WAS GOOD TO GO.

REGARDING THE *** COMMENT, WE  DISCOUNTED THE COST OF RENTED PODS, THAT IS MALARKEY.  THE REAL TRUTH IS THAT *** FAILED TO MEET THEIR TIMELINE TO BUILD MY METAL BUILDING. IN FACT, THEIR BUILD-INSTALL TEAM, EVEN BROUGHT THE WRONG STEEL ONCE, WHICH RESULTED IN THE TEAM NOT ACCOMPLISHING ANY WORK ON MY METAL BUILDING BUILD FOR ONE DAY.  THEY HAD TO PROCEED BACK TO THE *** HEADQUARTERS, AND GET THE CORRECT STEEL.

Customer made aware of the issue with the mice coming into the building in May as well as an issue with the electric openers on his building. At this point the customer was given a reimbursement in the amount of $1,630.68 for the issues. REGARDING THE MICE ISSUE, IT WAS POINTED OUT TO ***, THAT THE MICE ENTERED THE METAL BUILDING, BECAUSE OF NEGLIGENCE BY THE *** BUILD TEAM, SINCE THERE IS AN OPENING WHERE THE CONCRETE SLAB AND THE METAL FRAME SHOULD BE FLUSH. *** THEN TELLS MEAFTERREPEATAFTER THE BUILD, THAT THE CONCRETE PAD WAS DEFECTIVE. WTH? HELLOWHY DIDNT *** TELL ME DURING THE BUILD? VIPFTRTHERE ARE NO DEFECTS WITH THE CONCRETE PAD.

REGARDING THE $1630.68 REIMBURSEMENT COMMENT, THAT IS TOTALLY, FACTUALLY INACCURATE. ***s PARTNER CARPORT CENTRAL, GAVE ME FALSE INFORMATION, AND AS A RESULT, I WAS DUE A REFUND OF $1630.68.

IN CLOSING, *** NEEDS TO MAN-UP, AND FIX THEIR NEGLIGENT WORKMANSHIP THAT HAS  CAUSED THE MICE ISSUE, AND REPAIR THE INSULATION DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE MICE.

In regards to the consumers response to the fact that the insulation list was reviewed as stated the customer originally was to purchase a vertical sided building but then changed to a horizontal sided building due to cost at which point his list would need to be revised to accommodate the siding to run a different direction and this was not changed in which caused the issue with the insulation running incorrectly and our company incurring the cost to make the insulation that the consumer purchased work on the revised purchased building.

In regards to the consumers response to a timeline for the install of the building it was delayed originally due to the insulation issue and the crew needing to get different material to be able to install the insulation that the consumer purchased. This caused the consumer to have to rent the pods he was using for an additional month to which we discounted off of the building total cost.

In regards to the consumers issue with the concrete we do not specialize in concrete and therefore can not tell the customer that it was incorrect. We also discussed this on the phone with the consumer and made aware that again we do not pour the foundations that the buildings are installed upon so we can not say that it is incorrectly poured nor are we able to correct any issues that may arise with foundations.

I am rejecting this response because:

For all BBB readers…as a preface to my responses below in CAPS, to the 3 irrational and false comments made by American Building Network (ABN), Mt Airy NC, let me state for the record, ABN is not trustworthy and lacks integrity. Thus, it is HIGHLY recommended, repeat, HIGHLY recommended, to not conduct business with ABN.

With this said, in CAPS below is my factual input to the following 3 ABN irrational comments.

ABN comment 1 : In regards to the consumers response to the fact that the insulation list was reviewed as stated the customer originally  was to purchase a vertical sided building but then changed to a horizontal sided building due to cost at which point his list would need to be revised to accommodate the siding to run a different direction and this was not changed in which caused the issue with the insulation running incorrectly and our company incurring the cost to make the insulation that

the consumer purchased work on the revised purchased building.

MY RESPONSE: YO…ABN…QUIT LYING ABOUT ME PURCHASING WRONG INSULATION, WHEN YOUR BUSINESS PARTNER CARPORT CENTRAL, CONDUCTED A THOROUGH REVIEW OF THE INSULATION THAT I WAS PURCHASING, AND STATED ALL ITEMS WERE CORRECT. WITH THIS SAID, YO…ABN…CONTACT CARPORT CENTRAL AND STOP YOUR IRRATIONAL WHINING TO ME.

ABN comment 2: In regards to the consumers response to a timeline for the install of the building it was delayed originally due to the insulation issue and the crew needing to get different material to be able to install the insulation that the consumer purchased. This caused the consumer to have to rent the pods he was using for an additional month to which we discounted off of the building total cost.

MY RESPONSE: YO…ABN…AS PREVIOUSLY STATED, I HAD ORDERED THE INSULATION THAT CARPORT CENTRAL APPROVED. THUS, TELL THE TRUTH! HELLO…QUIT LYING ABOUT ME, AND DEAL WITH THE ENTITY THAT ACTUALLY MADE THE MISTAKE > CARPORT CENTRAL. GET A GRIP.

ABN comment 3 : In regards to the consumers issue with the concrete we do not specialize in concrete and therefore can not tell the customer that it was incorrect. We also discussed this on the phone with the consumer and made aware that again we

do not pour the foundations that the buildings are installed upon so we can not say that it is incorrectly poured nor are we able to correct any issues that may arise with foundations.

MY RESPONSE: WHAT ABN IS STATING REGARDING THE CONCRETE, IS ANOTHER BOLD FACE LIE. THERE WAS IN FACT NO ‘CONCRETE ISSUE’. THE TRUTH IS THAT ABN WORKMANSHIP IN CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUILDING WAS NEGLIGENT, RESULTING IN THE GAP BETWEEN THE ABN STEEL FRAME AND THE CONCRETE.

IN CLOSING, YO…ABN…I PAID ALMOST $30K FOR THIS SUB-STANDARD CONSTRUCTED METAL BUILDING. ABN, YOU FAILED MISERABLY TO SATISFY THIS CUSTOMER. UNTIL ABN CORRECTS ITS NEGLIGENT WORKMANSHIP, ON MY METAL BUILDING, I WILL ENSURE MY SOCIAL NETWORK KNOWS NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH ABN.

I have had good and bad experience with ***. It started with there authorized dealer colt buildings which has a terrible reputation and reviews (I learned that after the fact). **** sold me empty promises and totally botched up my order. but *** did step in and help fast track process and square away everything and got my building out and up. Had a few hiccups along the way as the crew they sent spoke zero English and had no idea how to read a blue print as they erected my building backwards to do the fact they were holding the plans upside down. Then all the windows and door openings were off due to Colt never updating my file and wrong siding. Which they were amazing and had it resolved in 2 days which was great. But now I ran into an issue when my contractor sent his crew in to frame and I have windows on one side that *** installed in wrong spot about 5 feet off where the plans says they need to be. So I sent a 2 very informative emails explaining my issue as it threw off the whole layout on one side of house and I have not received any feed back which drove me to this review. I do expect compensation on this as we needed to resize my childrens bedroom and they all down sized immensely which will carry through for the remaining years we are in this house. Also when the *** crew measured for the height of all the exterior doors they took height measurements off incorrectly so I have a 3 inch gap over all my exterior doors/patio sliders which I need resolved via contractor at a cost. Im very displeased with the lack of urgency. I will say the communication is not up to par as I have several email threads with *** complaining about the communication issues.

      Business response

      06/27/2024

We do apologize but during the installation of the building in April the customer was on site and reviewed all measurements with the crew while installing which is how some issues were corrected promptly. We have already incurred several loses while we were installing this building due to not having all the correct information as stated prior to beginning the project and changes made that were not given to us accordingly. We remade the building framework promptly to the specifications given and immediately sent the crew back to the residence to install the building at our expense as well as incurring the cost of sheet metal to satisfy the customers needs.

      Customer response

      06/28/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

As stated in my complaint, your authorized dealer has several scam alerts and ******** pages and BBB reviews linked to him Colt builders (****) his end is the reason ABN didnt have a completed updated file. Which I stated in my complaint that I am grateful for you fixing the headers and siding layout. But the installers had no idea what they were doing, if I didnt stop at the site day one they would have had the whole frame up and backwards as (*****) was lead man and had plans upside down hence why the all the slider patio doors were on wrong side. After they disassembled and took back to ** to fix it they came back and had me measure the headers to confirm width and heights of window frames not placements of windows. They are working off plans provided by ABN for you to say to me the customer is responsible to babysit your installers to ensure they can read your plans and place openings in correct place is unreal, unprofessional and unexceptional. I now have to deal with having two oversized bedrooms and 1 obviously much smaller bed room for my 3 children (that will be a great conversation down the road which kid gets the tiny room) I am totally taken back by the lack of responsibility and respect being shown towards a paying customer. I had to resort to using a 3rd party to get a response as your office has ignored my emails.

We were told our building would be built in 2 days at the most but could be done in a day.. It took 5 days and we missed an event as a family we had paid to attend because they were sti not done 4 days in.. They finally finished on the 5th day at 5:45pm and my husband had missed the entire event for the weekend.. And if that wasn't enough , the siding tin on the metal building is all scratched up like it was dragged down the highway.. they left the plastic wrap on all the trim work that all has been screwed down now and you can't get it off correctly if you don't take every last s**** out of this big building . THEY ALSO DIDNT CENTER MY WINDOWS ..and the company was instructed as where the workers make sure the windows are center and even on the side so it didn't look off and not uniforme. I have put in a call to the company ...no answer at 11:00 am and sent a text that they text ne from.. nothing no reply .. I'm not paying another cent till this is remedied by knocking off money for all the damages to this supposed to be brand new building . And the lack of thouraouness that should have all been covered being here so dang long .

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. THE LAST CORRESPONDANCE  WAS THEM ASKING FOR ME TO SEND PICS OF ALL THE DAMAGE AND ISSUES , they provided a  text message  and asked ne to forward the pics to that text  so they knew they would get then.. And I did , now nothing feom them  and I've sent more texts messages asking why haven't u heard feom them since they saw pics of all the shotty workmanship, and the bad finish and scratches an on our tin, also sent pics of the killed grass where the woman left all the tin piles up for 5 days in the blistering direct sun !  Nothing from this company !!!!!!

      Business response

In regards to the time it takes for the installation of the building it is traveling construction and outdoors and during the time of the installation we did have several storms come through the area causing some of the delay in the installation. The minor scratches as seen in the pictures can happen during the installation of the building and is stated in the attached contract that was signed stating that this is possible during installation. The installation crew did forget to remove the protective plastic from the trim on the building and we would have sent them back to take it off of the building had we been made aware prior to the client removing the plastic on their own. The window frame outs on the building were approved by the clients spouse and with the installation crew on site to be installed where they were and after they were finished the clients spouse said that she would not be happy with the placement and modified on their own. The reason we were not able to do the size that the client mentioned is due to the order form stating that the window frame out sizes were to be 24" wide not 48" wide. We have tried to contact the customer to offer compensation of $500.00 for the time that it took for the clients husband to remove the protective plastic from the trim and for reframing the windows even though they had been approved.

I am rejecting this response because: they plainly stated it would take 2 days  to install.. At the end if the second day..I called I to ask  why they  told us two days  when it clearly was going to be more. The part about storms , Is a lie , we were here with  them the entire time  they only  had to stop at 5 on the first day  because of a rain storm..  no other day did they have rain.  THEY  JUST NOW   HAVE IFFERED 500 FOR MY HUSBAND  TAKING OF THE PLASTIC!  That job had not even been completed. .. it's on every single piece of trim and to do it correctly tly every piece needs to come off to remove the plastic pinned behind the screws.  THEY KILLED OUR GRASS   IN NUMEROUS SPOTS from having tin and parts sitting for a solid week on our lawn .  We sent them pics of that as well. The finish on the building is not scratches from install, we have had it looked at by a tin company and they said it looks like the rollers on the machine  where dry and  took finish off all the way along  on each groove of the tin.  THATS NOT FROM INSTALL.  WE MISSED AN EVENT that was paid for in advance  of 500 alone   because they were here  way longer then was told to us  all along even by the crew . They claimed they would be out of here by day 3 .. Then morning of event day 5  they said they would be dome early in morning so my husband could leave.. They were here the entire day ..  My husband also had ro leave work early the very first day because the two workers had assembled the  first half of building facing the wrong way.. They needed his tractor to pull the metal stops out of the ground and needed 4 people to  turn the building the correct way. THE **** NEW WHEN HUSBAND SAW WINDOWS , IT WAS NOT GOING TO FLOAT ,  HE TOLD THEM.. THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED HOME OFFICE TO ASK WHAT COULD BE DONE..    we have lost alot of money on this   build ,  and all issues have not been attended to.. this company has gotten text after text from me where I sent pictures , they attached only some  of them , but they are getting the messages if they got the pics and they have not replied to us at all. WE ARE NOT  GOING TO ACCEPT ****** We lost that much in husband and daughter not being able to attend the equine event that weeknd alone ..

      Business response

      07/05/2024

We have communicated with the customer that we will look into the machine roller that runs the panels when we return to the office next week after our annual leave. Our roll form machine does not use water to cut the panels so therefore it will be dry when running as this is not a part of the process to manufacturer the panels. In regards to the grass from the panels laying on them we do state in the contract the possibility of landscaping being damaged by install. In regards to the windows again on the building the contract stated for 24" windows and not for 48" and they have to be placed between the upright posts on the building as the order did not have header bars which are needed to replace posts on the building.

I  as they clearly don't even know what they sold us.. we have headers installed  . We paid for those   we also have 4ft on center  posts .  I tolled then from the start I had to have windows center. Husband told them I was not going to lole the windows off set..  When they got them done..  he signed off on it because he had to for them to leave the property after 5 days . SO HE COULD GET ON THE **** TO THE EVENT TO WATCH ME THAT HE HAD SLREADY MISSED.. they don't mention anything in any reply about the money husband lost by not  being able to leave  because they kept telling him they would be done before his event , they would be done and gone LIES  from day one.. Office told us it would be 2 days tops .. I kept calling trulying to get an answer on why it was so much longer then we were told at the start of this process .. We will not  be paying anything more on this building they have left thus go to long and the  paneling is a mess  that was messed up in production  .  WE HAVE NO INTRESTNIN ANY CREW FEOM THIS COMPANY COMING BACK FOR DAYS  TO CAMP OIT ON OUT PROPERTY  TO FIX THIS H*** OF A MESS  !

I ordered a building to be installed on my slab. The first crew that came out to install it left and said my lot is too steep in the back and they don't have ladders longer than 17 feet. The company said they would come up with a solution and send a different crew out. sent a different crew out. The second crew didn't have any different equipment and also left. The company said they were cancelling my order. I asked about a refund for the $3864 I sent them before they came out. They said No refund due to building fabrication and since they sent the crews out twice. I think I should get a refund, it's not my fault their crews were not prepared to put up the building. I would think that after the first crew was out, they would have made sure the second crew was properly prepared to put the building up.

We have attempted to install the consumers building twice now and have not been able to complete the installation due to the way the site is prepared. We suggested to the consumer to back fill around the location with dirt in order for the crews to safely install the structure so that they have a level area to be able to place their ladders securely and do not risk their safety while trying to install the building due to a 9' drop and unleveled ground to place their ladders upon. Prior to any installation we notify that the install area will need to be level including the area surrounding where the structure is going to be installed for the safety of our installation crews. In regards to additional equipment to be able to complete the install we are not able to do so due to obstruction from landscaping on the property.

We have sent the customer our master generic plans that are included with all orders that are sent to us for fabrication and installation. If any of our clients are needing anything outside of those that are provided there is an additional fee that is incurred to the client for that service as it is not included in the price of the building. Attached is the contract that was signed by the customer outlining that the only thing included with the cost of the building is our master generic plans. The first time that the master generics were sent to the customer was on April 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM and then we highlighted the master generics to reference the information pertaining directly to their purchase and resent them to the customer on May 14, 2024 at 8:59 AM.

We are corresponding moving forward with the consumer via email. We have contacted the consumer this evening and let know that we will be reinstalling corner trim on the building as well as supplying foam strips above the framed openings per their request even though it is not standard procedure to install foam strips in this area. The consumer has asked how we are going to move forward with the scratches on the panels of the building as well as the scratches on the trim that was supplied for the installation crew to install which again is not standard procedure for us to install. We have notified the consumer that we will be discussing compensation for these issues back to him as the building still has a remaining balance owed and will discount out of that. Once we have come to a resolution we will be notifying the consumer via email and will also be updating the BBB with the resolution.

I am rejecting this response because: They didn't install the trim that I made I installed it and they damaged it when they installed the siding the first time. When they came out to repair the door trims and replace the damaged siding I replaced the trim I made that they damaged and then they damaged it again and in more locations. I don't see how they are going to repair this. They where told that they had a deadline to complete the repairs because I could not hold off the insulation contractor or the overhead door company past that date. They waited until the Friday before the building was getting insulated. They showed up 5/24/24 at about 2:00pm and the building was being insulated on 5/28/24 which has been completed and the overhead doors where installed on 5/30/24 threw 6/4/24. I received my 1st email from ******* last night 6/5/24 at 6:47pm and this is what I received.

I wanted to respond to you via email to ensure accuracy that right now what is still lingering to be completed on the building is the corner trim on the building and the foam strips you have requested above the framed openings? If you could please let me know as well in writing what is still needing to be completed so that I can have a documented account and we have everything on our end to be able to ensure the building is completed.

      Thank you,

      ***************************

      and this is my response

*******,what about all my trim they damaged the last time they were here and what about all the damaged siding? I told you they even left screws out of the roof I looked up and could see daylight so I had to go up and install the missing screws. They also failed to snap lines for the screws in the siding they replaced so the screws are up and down right on the front of the building between 2 of the 12x12 doors.
The helpers where amateurs the person in charge I believe his name was ****** had to make them take down siding they installed because they stretched it out to far and it wasnt closing.
There are more scratches now than before.
The last crew that came out was worse than the first crew other than ****** he did replace the door trim and made them acceptable.
And to answer your question yes I have no corner trim and I would like to have the foam for the tops of the door. As far as the rest of the problems you tell me how you can handle this now that the electrical service is installed, the overhead doors are installed, the building has been spray foamed which I told you was going to happen I couldnt hold them off any longer and some of the interior has been ply wooded for the doors and the service.
      Thank You
      *******************************

      Then I received this

      ******************,

I will pass this information to my superiors and see how they would like to proceed with the completion of the building as this will be above me in regards to any compensation for the inconvenience imposed upon you.The trim and the foam strips I can do on my end but I will ask them in the morning and correspond back via email.

      Thank you,

Our installation crew went back to replace panels on the building due to the issues as well as the trim. The customer asked the crew to remove the trim around the roof of the building and they were to replace the corner trim on the building as well but in trying to replace the corner trim it was not wide enough to adequately cover the corner as the customer requested. Upon talking with the crew they stated the customer had said to leave it and he would install on his own but speaking with the customer after the crew left he did not relay that to the crew so we will be going to reinstall the corner trim on the building. The customer will also be settled with in regards to issues with scratches on his purchased trim and panels on the building once the corner trim is reinstalled for the customer.

I am rejecting this response because: I never told the crew not to install the corners the building came with 4" corners they did not install them correctly so when they came back they brought 6" corners which didn't fit so in order to install the 4" corners the 8 sheets of siding would have to be changed in order to not see the holes from the previous installation of the corners. They had a dead line to complete the repairs to all the damaged siding they showed up on the Friday at 2:00pm and they were ******* trying to get it completed because the following Tuesday it was getting spray foam insulation and they new this a month before they showed up. Because they were ******* they caused more damage than I originally had. Now it is spray foamed and the interior is completed. In order for them to change all the damaged siding and my trim that they damaged they would have to remove the interior finish, remove the spray foam and then change the siding and my trim and then re-spray foam the insulation and replace the interior finish. They are more than welcome to install the corners after they change the siding so you don't see the holes from the previous corner installation and the rest of the damaged siding.

We apologize for any miscommunication as we were told by the crew as stated that they were asked to leave all the materials that were brought. We again can still come and install the corners on the building that are not installed as of yet. The crew has stated that they can still install corner trim on the building as is they will just need to adjust the profile on the corners to adhere as needed. In regards to after this is completed we again will settle with the customer for the issues with his provided trim that was installed.

I am rejecting this response because:
What about the rest of the damage to the siding and the trim I made that they damaged? The last crew that came out changed the damaged siding but they caused more damage than was there originally. I had changed all the damaged trim that I made and they damaged it worse then the first crew. The siding they change has all scratches in it. It was caused by the way they were handling it. They were very crud workers. This structure is not in an industrial park it is in front of my home. They were supposed to send me the foam rubber strips and they never did I had to order them from someone local. At this point I think the best option is for them not to come out to make any repairs and consider my bill paid in full. Forget about the money I owe them. It will cost them more than what I owe to repair it correctly. Because there is no way for them to make the repairs unless they take the interior plywood down and remove the spray foam insulation and then replace the spray foam, the plywood and paint the plywood.

In response to the customer settling out the account we will be happy to accommodate a discount with the customer in regards to the remaining balance on the building but will still require a partial final payment as the remaining balance is $16,555.46 and is not equivalent to the issues stated with the building. As we have stated we are willing to go back if the customer wishes to install the trim on the corners of the building that were not installed. In regards to the trim provided by the customer the crew stated that they went to a local hardware store and purchased color matched paint to touch up scratches that were made during the installation of the building. We do state in our terms and agreements that during the installation process minor scratches can occur on the building and we will provide touch up paint as needed for these issues.

      Customer response

      08/07/2024

I am rejecting this response because: First of all the balance remaining is only $10,000.00 2nd the scratches are not minor scratches they are very major and they are on every piece of the siding and on every piece of the trim that I made and installed. Like I have said in the past if they want to fix everything (all my trim and all scratched siding) they are more than welcome too. I am not going to accept them just installing corners. I will take this a step further the right and left sides are supposed to be 12" overhangs but they are not they are almost 16" which now I have to cut the roof back so it is approximately 12". The roofing panels overhang the end of the trusses by 4-5 inches. So in order to install gutters I have to cut the roof back so the gutter isn't under the roof with the water going over it instead of into it.

I have attached a copy of the down payment amount paid. I have attached an EFT and I have attached a canceled check. I am at work and don't have all the receipts but when I get home I will get them so I can show the balance is only $10,000.00

What I uploaded early shows a balance of $11,251.90 I didn't except there 4 windows and the 1 entrance door because the windows where supposed to be thermopane glass and all they where was single glass storm windows. The door was supposed to be an insulated door which it looked like a door for a camper so I refused them and they credited me $1,251.90 which if you do the math leaves a balance of ********* not ********* like ******* stated.

      Building total cost                     $36,151.72
      Credit from salesperson               ($608.16)
      Deposit ACH                              ($5,473.66)
      EFT                                          ($13,514.66)
      Check# **** for                         ($5303.56)
Credit for windows and door      ($1,251.90)
Which leaves a total balance of $*********

In response to the customer settling out the account we will be happy to accommodate a discount with the customer in regards to the remaining balance on the building but will still require a partial final payment. All of our structures do have an additional overhang on the sides as the trim is attached to this. We do apologize that the customer was not made aware of this at the time that he purchased the building from the independent dealer but this is our typical installation procedures. In regards to the remaining balance on the structure we have had our accounting department to correlate what was submitted and they have confirmed a remaining balance owed of $10,000.00. We again welcome settling out the account with a discount on the outstanding balance.

      08/22/2024

I am rejecting this response because: Between the amount of time you cost me waiting for you to repair the building and the amount of damage you caused trying to fix it I feel that the balance of $10,000.00 isn't even enough. If you don't agree with this, then you are more than welcome to come out and take everything apart and repair all the damaged siding and trim just like I have told you in the past. Just be aware that it will cost you way more than $10,000.00. The interior is finished, which includes spray foam insulation and 1/2 plywood on all wall it is painted and wired and there are also real soffits attached to the siding and azek fascia that will have to be removed  to so I think you should just call it even with what I have paid you up to this point. If you decide to take everything apart to repair all the damage just know that the floor is getting epoxied soon and that will be another problem for you. I also need it completed before the end of September because I need to move in and start working out of it.

We have been trying to get an attorney to sue this company. We did not realize that the BBB would help us resolve our complaint. In May 10, 2022, my wife and I met with 2 representatives of American Building Network (******** ***** *********) about building a metal home. To "lock in the price", of the building, they asked for $10,000 down. We paid the payment, then we could not get bank financing. American ***** refused to discuss the issue with us saying that it was non-refundable. We asked if they would build us a garage or carport to settle and they refused. We did not receive anything for our money... not a single screw.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. I have heard from the original dealer (representative for the company). Hopefully he will make this right.

We have contacted the consumer through the second party (*** ******* ****) that the consumer purchased through and made aware that the consumer is wishing to get a different style building or a refund on the money that the consumer paid down to the second party. We were made aware that the consumer and the second party (*** ******* ****) had reached an agreement and were going to update to a different building.

      Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: we never accepted ANY  agreement. We asked that the “dealer” refund our money AND give us a better deal than normal on a metal carport. The company’s representatives misrepresented the facts and, according to the dealer, have since been fired. We are out $10,000 due to lies told by these representatives. If they are saying that a 3rd party, “a dealer for the company,” is responsible for the repayment, then this dealer still represented the company and we still need our money returned.

let it be known that the 3rd party dealer was an agent for the company, as well as the two sales agents, and is considered to be employed and acting for the company
