We were originally scheduled for this garage to arrive in two separate dates. The date and time was confirmed with universal metal structures. We had to have a machine operator and a machine here as requested by the company for assembly. On both dates the garage was not delivered and received no phone call or communication with status update. Multiple calls to company made with no status or communication on the location and estimated delivery. On the third delivery attempt we finally received and assembled the garage successfully. I was advised by my sales representative, the owner of the company, and accounts payable that Id be receiving a refund check of $2400 for the two days we had to pay the machine operator where the garage was not delivered. We still have no received this refund check and it has been 6 weeks. I was advised by accounts payable $1200 would be mailed out 10 days ago. Still no check. I have attempted to communicate with this company every day for 6 weeks with no success. I would like the refund I was advised Id be receiving mailed to me in a check as I was advised by sales representative ******, manager/ owner ******, and accounts payable Gabby.Customer Answer

6/2024Ordered a metal building, contractor delivered and partially assembled the building on 9/6-7/2024 (1 of 3 doors was not completely installed due to no rails delivered)(none sold locally in stock) (advised if I installed the rail/door the warranty would be void) (agreed UNiversal would send contract with rail to install) credit card payment was approved 9/09/2024 in full. Approximately ***** calls have been unanswered, no return call by manager or anyone! I am asking my credit card company to retract partial payment for the parts and labor of completing installation the 3rd 12x12 rollup door. I am willing to make payment in full upon delivery and installation of the 3rd and final door. My building sits unsecured due to a large overhead door being opened because no rails installed. This leaves my back door wide open to theft and weather. Insurance will not insure until the door is lockable and contents secured. 9/3/2024 Communicated with **** stated work order would be completed still without return call. 9/14/24 called four times, advised issue would be resolved with callback- none received.Customer Answer

I purchased a 30x50x14 building with a 12x50 lean to. I have had nothing but trouble from this company as soon as they took my deposit. This business runs under paramount structures and several more. Building leaks they dont do any caulking between the concrete and bottom square tubing. It cost me well over 3k$ missing work bc they have several different dates to install and they would no call no show. They put 2 different styles of 12x12 roll up doors up and was gonna send 2 more out bc they didnt know which style was up and wanted to make sure well they showed up finally 5 weeks later and brought 1 door and its a different style as well. If you want a company that doesnt do what they say or doesnt communicate with you at all then this is the company for you. I dont recommend this company to anyoneCustomer Answer

The installation of the shop/structure was some of the worst work I have ever see. The company I bought it from subcontracted out another company. We have been going back and forth between myself and the two companies. Ill get a call by universal saying will be out and no one shows. This has been ongoing since first of March. Im wanting may money back plus restitution. Im now going to have to get some else out to apparently fix it since universal is not taking it serious.Initial Complaint

I submitted a $871 deposit for an RV carport on Dec. 29, 2023. After reading over the contract, my lawyer recommended not doing business with this company, There were 3 different company names for the installer, 2 different names for the seller and after researching the seller Riverside metal Building I found nothing but complaints, not good reviews. The agent promised me my deposit was refundable and I requested it back on Jan. 2. I was told it was being processed. I tried contacting the salesman 3 time since and only had one response, still no refund. I initiated a complaint with my bank which is now under review. I not holding my breath. I believe I've been lied to and will not see me refund.I would not recommend doing business with this company or their alias Riverside Metal Structures.Business Response

We wish to apologize for the delay in response, Riverside Metal Structures is an online Authorized Retailer for Multiple Partners. The Contract is for ******* that would normally complete the Prefab and Installation. The Refund has been requested and pushed through to the Payables team. I will update on monday as for the location of the refund in the process that has started. Down payments are typically not refundable. This refund will be issued due to the clients decline to sign the Contract. We do apologize for any misconception and look forward to a resolution. Please have Mr. ******** respond with his best contact information so I can work with him. I am rejecting this response because: I've tried to contact Riverside numerous time since I requested a refund. This has been since Jan 3. All of my inquires have gone without a response. I was told before I gave Riverside money that my down payment was refundable. I requested a refund on Jan. 2 and I was told a refund was issued on Jan. 3. I cannot believe it took 2 months to process the refund. I believe that I would not received a refund had I not filed a complaint through my bank. I hope this complaint will be posted for the public to see so that other customers can see how this company operates. Had I did my research from the start through the BBB, I would not have done business with Riverside. I finally receive a refund and I imagine the complaint through the bank is what made the refund possible. Avoid doing business with Riverside Metal Building aka Universal Metal Buildings.
They seem to operate under several alias in order to hide complaints. That's why I did not see the bad reports prior to submitting a deposit.
What caught my attention was the fine print in the contract. The company they were using to do the install of the metal building had several aliases and I couldn't determine who was actually going to do the install. I researched these companies and found numerous complaints, then I looked up the many addresses on ****** maps. Using Street view, I could not find a commercial building with any signage referencing that *************. Unfortunately this was after I submitted my deposit.
My advice, do diligent research when dealing with companies online. Fortunately for me, I worked out in my favor, thanks to my banks effort.

My building was delivered and constructed in June while I was away for military training. I spoke with my family and they sent me pictures. The entry door does not line up with the sidewalk, but rather goes 6 inches past. I called and explained to the customer support department that based on the rendering they sent me the door would be 12 inches from the corner and not 18 is it ended up. I had sent them plans before construction that showed a breezeway being built in addition to the building they were commissioned for. the door placement is a huge problem. after a few emails where they claimed the building must be torn down and rebuilt to correct and my showing that this was wrong they assured me that they would send the contractor back out to fix this. the contractor then told them that the person on site (my wife) told them to leave it, which she did not. they sent him back out, he asked my wife to come outside, then promptly left. the door had not been touched. I contacted UMB again and they assured me this would be fixed. That was in June. Now they will not answer my phone calls or emails. The contractor also did not center the roll-up doors on the existing basketball goal, making one door inaccessible unless I remove the basketball goal. I did not request for this to be corrected however. I only wanted the walk through door placement corrected. I spend thousands on the plans for the breezeway that connects my shop to my home and as of right now I cannot complete them.Initial Complaint

They took forever to build the canopy and now they didn't build it according to plans and the building inspector said we are non-compliant. I've been calling for months and they ignore me and do nothing about it.Initial Complaint

I purchased a metal RV carport from this company. Paid $1000.00 deposit via ******. The installers arrived two days before scheduled, they were concerned with how unlevel the ground was. The installer offered a solution by adding leg extensions at a price I agreed shortly after they said they could not do it and abruptly left. The company called me a few minutes later and asked if we could reschedule and informed me there would be a $625.00 return fee. I informed them that it was their installers decision not to do the job when they had already informed me that they could do it. It was around 5:00 pm on a Friday it was obvious they were not interested in working on a Friday night. They had the ability to do the job And decided they didn't want to.
