I'd like to back up to our first appointment here, a simple wellness check. I'm extremely unhappy with the events that have transpired since. We had both dogs get their anal glands expelled while we were there as well as updates on all their shots. This was Jan 19th. About a week goes and we notice otis was seeming to have issues again with his anal glands. I call because they seemed infected and hes had an infection before years ago. There wasn't an available regular appointment rather a drop off appointment. Otis was there all day (2/7), dropped off at 830 and we picked him up at 5 (because of work schedules). We pick him up and what happens within 2 days?? Hes coughing. Hasn't been anywhere else but Ocean isle vet. I call and explain my concerns to the receptionist, she takes my name and said she would have Dr Ben reach out Monday. I'm working when the phone call came in, working when the second call came in. Neither from Dr Ben but rather one asking if 240 worked that day then the other saying I see you missed your appt. I never confirmed that appt because I was working. So I call yesterday (2/15) to try to talk to Dr Ben as Otis is still coughing. I explained the situation, said we dont have a lot of money but our dogs health is important. Told her we were upset that he was nowhere else and is now sick. Which in turn is going to get our other dog sick. In less than a month we have spent 1000 in their facility. Why when we brought him in healthy is he now having more issues? Ironic? I would honestly hate to even suggest this type of thing happening there because we liked Dr Ben when we met and thought this seemed like a great fit. But their refusal to make this right has led me to the BBB. I tried contacting them to waive the revisit fee as he was just there and is now sick. They refused.
