11/9/22 Bootsy was taken to Brown Creek Animal Hospital she had not been eating and acting tired. The vet told me she was ANEMIC, she had **** eating cat littler and needed fluids. They gave her fluids and sent us home with a tons of meds..She started getting better jumping up on the furniture eating and drinking water normal stools normal potty breaks...************** told me I have to bring her back every 2 weeks for a shot for her Anemia, So I booked a follow up for her to get her shot.. That is all we talked about for her follow up on 11/23/22.My husband took her for her shot.. They told him they needed to take her back, when she returned she had blood on her nose, my husband thought maybe she scratched it on way there, yet he had not seen any blood before being taken back. She returned not wanting to eat again, We took her back on 12-2-22 she was not eating unless by syringe. They did not offer any change other then more meds... She returned on Monday 12-5-22 she was really bad by then, I requested pain meds due the amount of pain she was in and they also gave her fluids. They told my husband she would perk right up in a few hours and sent her home on gabapentin along with all the other meds which was too much. 12/6/22 I stayed by her side until she passed less then 24 hours of being seen by ************* and we were told she would BE FINE... After reading reviews on ****** and ******** I see they have neglected other animals that resulted in death... Death of our family member right here at Christmas........

We all here at Brown Creek Animal Hospital are very sorry for the loss of Bootsy.  We understand the grief that accompanies the loss of a pet, especially older pets which have been a part of our lives for so long. With this loss, the "why" can sometimes turn to anger and blame with this grief. In our profession, the outcome despite our best efforts can be unfortunate. The medical details of ******'s case have been reviewed and documented. All treatment and diagnostic options (including referral to a specialist) were discussed and offered to the owner, ************** who brought Bootsy to our facility. As is understandable, some recommendations given by our associate veterinarian, **************, were declined by ************** due to financial restraints. Despite this, every effort was made to diagnose/treat Boosty under the restrictions that were defined my the owner to the best of our ability. ************** was also giving medication prescribed to another cat in combination with medications specific for Bootsy without our direction or consent. ************** unfortunately has told me as practice owner that his sole intent was to "hurt ************** as much as possible" and to "make her life miserable for the loss of his cat." Again we all here know the pain and grief that accompanies the loss of a pet, however this grief does not give the right for slanderous and vindictive aggression towards our doctor or any member of our staff. We stand behind the standard of care that was offered and performed by our staff in this case. We all take great care in the treatment of our patients and the accommodation of clients, which our ****** and ******** reviews reflect. Again, we are all saddened by the loss of ******, and wish her family comfort during this time.

I am rejecting this response because:
My husband never refused any medical treatment options.  We never refused any test or treatment... Spent ****** on the 1st visit  then ****** worth of test on the 12-2-22 visit.

So yes, we ordered any and all test.... Furthermore ************* told us it would be fine to give her one dose of the pain meds that we had on hand it was one dose that was given back on 11-28-22. She told my husband no additional test would help, ***** stated that ***** would **** up within a few hours,  she died the next morning.   ************* is responsible for the death of Booty.   I feel like your clinic  not only misdiagnosed her they also pumped full of meds that *** have been the cause of her death.  The owner referring to it as an "INDECENT" and threatening to *** me for sharing my experience with others clearly show guilt and offering us some compensation would most definitely show blame is on their part.. Correction my husband stated he wanted to stop ************* from killing other animals  due to her incompetence and lack of experience.  If she can't tell a cat is dying why is she taking care of sick animals?  I'm not alone so many animals have died at this facility since new the ownership...  We feel she should be reprimanded and removed for her position at the company to prevent more animal loss..  Not trying to hurt anyone  We are trying to educate the community on the dangers of using the Doctors at this facility...

************** has stated several times that he will be contacting the *************************************** regarding his complaint against **************. I specifically stated to ************** during our last converstation that I agree he should pursue that route. The *************************************** is the proper governing body concerning his complaint, and is responsible for review of all cases where the appropriate standard of care is being questioned. I have never received a formal complaint from any client or employee concerning ************** in her 4+ years of employment with our practice. ****************** rights as a contracted practicing veterinarian at our hospital entitles her to this review before any action can be taken by myself, as practice owner and her employer.
