Caravan Rugs picked up a $5k rug for me on 2/15/2024 for cleaning. The entire rug was to be cleaned due to a small pet stain. The rug, which was primarily with a white background, was returned to me on 3/13/2024, with an overall gray background, a dingy appearance. Please see attached photo (left is before, right is after). Upon questioning the cleaning results of my rug, and further doing my own research, I learned that Caravan Rugs does not have a complete cleaning system. Their website reveals this - no wash tub. A wash tub is a necessary component for effective cleaning for this type of rug. The hand cleaning does not cut it - literally! I text messaged and sent pictures to the owner, *****, on 3/22/2024, and further spoke with him on 3/25/2024. After reviewing the photos and speaking with him on 3/25/2024, ***** agreed to send me a refund check for the $500.00 I had paid Caravan Rugs. I took him for his word and moved forward with another rug cleaning company, ***********. *********** has documentation, along with photographs of the condition of my rug which supports my findings. On 4/09/2024, I followed up with *****, via text, to inform him that I had not received his check and asked if I could stop by the shop and pick it up. He told me, via text, he had forgotten and that he would mail it out as soon as possible. I texted back to him that I expect to have by 4/16/2024 or I would pursue other measures. I do have the text messages in my phone. He then shifted gear and asked to see the rug. I told him the rug was at a local competitor's and though the photo spoke for itself, he was welcome to visit *********** for his personal viewing. He became angry and told me I had no right to reach out to a competitor. I told him I had every right to do so, that the trust with Caravan was gone and further, without the proper equipment, there was nothing further that his company, Caravan Rugs, could do. My rug will never be the same.
