I joined the Living Well Balance wellness community in the summer of 2021. Due to a number of improprieties that happened over the course of my time there, including inappropriate sexual innuendo, misleading and misinformation by the owner about billing and staffing, I finally chose to leave. When I began, it was suggested I do a full bloodwork panel in working with the nutritionist and when I inquired about the cost, *****************************, the practice owner, informed me that everything would be covered under my insurance. He and his team had done an extensive look into what my insurance would cover. Bloodwork was drawn on 9/2/21.In March 2022 I received checks from my insurance company and was advised via correspondences with ***************************** and his representative, ***********************, on March 2, 2022, where to send them. I mailed the checks. ** April 2022 I received a letter from *********** Laboratories that my insurance notified them of checks sent to me. I phoned Empire City Laboratories billing on 4/19/22 and spoke to *****. I told him I had sent the checks. He advised they received them and that I owed $643.60 in patient responsibility.I emailed ****************** on 4/19/22, as he had told me everything would be covered by insurance. He replied: "They are always going to mention your out of pocket responsibility, regardless of whether you are in- or out-of-network. Do NOT pay anything. They will send you 3(ish) bills and then they will disappear!!!" No out of pocket fees apply to our patients." I received 2 more bills, each time ****************** spoke w/ ***** & assured me DO NOT PAY; it would be removed. I recently reached out to ****************** as I have yet to receive a $0 balance & was told "You wont get any official closure from themonce theyve sent a few invoices, they will stop sending them as long as you dont call/email them to re-open your account. Just keep me posted if you get anything else from them and whatever you do, DO NOT pay anything!!!" I need closure.
