The company first visited June 27, 2023 to examine a temperature regulation issue between our second floor front bedroom and the rest of the home. We agreed to pay $149 for an audit conducted July 25 and received a proposal for work to seal and insulate the attic and install an exhaust fan on August 6. The representative (****) claimed we would get a $150 tax credit for the audit and that the attic was a significant source of heat to the room. We paid an additional $2,981 in two installments prior to the work date of September 7. When we did not hear back from the company, we followed up on October 2 to communicate that the work was performed in an unsatisfactory manner and had not addressed our problem. **** agreed to come check on October 16 but called instead and suggested they could simply install more insulation. Not satisfied that this would resolve the issue, we looked into it ourselves and learned that no work could have been performed above the room in question, because the attic wall did not allow entry. **** initially denied this but returned to take measurements and confirmed February 13, 2025 that the work had not been completed. He suggested they could return to insulate again, although we were not comfortable with this, given the quality of the prior work. We also learned on our own that the mini-audit didn't qualify as an audit for tax purposes and without a written report could not have supported the conclusion that the attic was a primary heat source. Further, an HVAC consultation determined the attic was no longer safe for workers to enter due to the overfilled insulation. Our energy bills have shown no energy savings. We provided data to support this and requested a partial refund of $1,340 on February 25. They agreed in writing to refund only $650 on March 4, and have not done so (despite multiple reminders). We would appreciate a prompt and truthful response from the company, so we can report the work correctly to the ****

Fan Man installed an attic fan at my home in 2010. I still have the receipt and it says there is a lifetime warranty, parts and labor. It's now broken and he wants me to pay $99. I recall him making a big deal about the warranty in 2010. He underlined it on the receipt, which I have. (it's toward the center of the page, under ATTIC FAN PROPOSAL.)
