The complaint is against AvenueWest (Raleigh) who was hired to perform a home improvement project at my residence. The contract was signed in 11/30/2022 and the contractor collected and advance payment ***** for the estimated job of *****. The job started in December 2022 and was scheduled to be completed in 6-8 weeks, however the contractor has failed to complete the job and the project is stalled. I have sent a demand letter through legal consultation for the pending work to be finished and the contractor has not responded to the letter. Early this month I call the licensing board and It has also come to light that the company does not have a general contractor license. Despite that the contractor has taken on a job that exceeds *****. Further the contractor has made several misleading claims regarding their business that led me to hire for the project. Avenuewest is part of bigger franchise and I would like to see that AvenueWest Raleigh franchise be held accountable for their questionable business practice.

I am sorry for the delay. All of your complaint reports have been going to our junk folder so luckily we were reviewing over it today and was able to recieve. These complaints are completely not valid as we have attempted MULTIPLE times to communicate with Miss ***** to be able to complete the project but she is not responding to our attempts even through her attorney. The project was delayed massively by her and her mother making multiple changes to the plan and having us to have vendors out to remeasure and requote on multiple different occasions. We communicated with her back on 4/15/23 what was needed to be able to complete the project, to which we recieved no response so no futher work was able to be scheduled as we can not complete the work without a response from the cleint. I have also attached the email sent on 5/11/23 that we have recieved no response to. We have recieved no further response to any communications attempted. Please see attachements of all communications and please reach out via email to *********************************** for any additional questions. We would be more than happy to complete all work started if she would simply respond to the options presented to let us know how she would like to proceed.

      Kind Regards,

I am rejecting this response because: Please see my attachment for more information.  More communication evidence can be provided.

I couldnt understand how can AvenueWest refused to refund to the job that they could not finish? It is fair and it is a good business practice to refund to clients. Unless they dont have enough money to refund me which means they move my money to other uses, that is considered a theft and it is an illegal action.

According to how I were treated by them for the past months, how can I continue to work with a contractor who is unqualified, dishonest, cheat to, not respect to and rude to clients, above of all, threaten the clients. They were hard to reach and didnt answer phone calls, they clearly didnt want to and inability to finish the project.

I am now requesting AvenueWest to refund me the amount that Ive paid and its fair according to my calculation, I supposed to ask all of my payments $43200 back because they dont have license and for the damage and emotional hurt they brought to me and my family, but I would not ask for the funds they already spend in my house, so I asked $26941 which I did a calculation and I think its fair.

      Sincerely,

      **********
