      Claim of non-treatment:

The date of treatment in question is June 2, 2023. We explained to the customer that our technician was out at his property for treatment for 6 minutes. It takes an average technician 1 minute for every **** square feet of turf treated. This is a standard, taking into account that the technician may encounter certain common cause variables that arise (ex: open and close gates, toys to move, notes that need to be added, etc.). The technician was at that location for 6 minutes.  That provided him ample time to perform the tasks assigned and more. The technician that treats this area (and this particular lawn) is one of our Lead Technicians. ****** has been with us longer than any of our technicians and has been a leader in our company for quite some time.  He takes his responsibilities very seriously and is highly trusted. He was asked about the treatment of the property and remembered treating it that day (6/2/2023) because it is a particularly memorable lawn. We explained this to *********** and stated that our technician did, in fact treat his property. He rejected this. We confidently dispute his accusation and stand by our employee and our evidence.

      Claim of excessive weeds:

Absolutely true. He does have an excess of weeds. And there's reasons for it (that's reasons with an "S.")  The first reason is that the soil under is turf is very fertile. That's one of the things we do. Our aim, as we explain to all of our customers, (************ is no exception to this) is to make the soil extremely fertile giving the turf the nutrients that it requires to be thick, strong and healthy. We treat weeds to clear areas of the soil to encourage the spread of the war season turf that is in his lawn. Thick, health turf and root systems will make it more and more difficult for weeds to find sunlight, nutrients and room to grow.

In February of this year, ************ had a fire that burn a section of lawn. (photos included) You can see the photos of the damage taken by the technician's assistant when he was out to treat the lawn in February of this year, that the damage is evident. I've also included in the email wherein ************ states that the burn had taken place and then states that he read online that this is actually good for the lawn. It is not. It would be OK if he were burning off weeds to make room for turf, but this was not the case. The fire burned off HEALTHY turf and as a result made plenty of room in the fertile soil. Not only that, but any pre-emergents that we had on that area of the lawn (and surrounding areas) were burned off because of the heat from the fire.

******, ************ only raked to repair the damaged area. No sod or seed was put down. So this resulted in we have vacant, healthy soil, without a pre-emergent barrier simply waiting for something to grow. Of course there's weeds. Those are the only seeds in the soil. They are growing and when we go out and kill them, new ones pop right up in their place. This happens because, again, as we have explained to ************: He has healthy soil with no competitive vegetation (grass). Nature will provide the seeds and she did.

      Other:

We had a similar problem with ************ in February of 2022. He reacted to an assumption on his part and was unpleasant to our staff, finally cancelling his account with us. Within a month, ************ started up his service with us again. ****** learned. We do not wish to work with this customer any longer.

      ************,

Back in April, 2022, we began construction on a pool. We contacted Weed Man and requested that the yard be re-measured since the area reserved for the pool had already been marked. The pool, surrounding patio and mulch area represented a reduction of ***** sqft of lawn.A day or two later we received a call acknowledging the request and were told that the measurement would be arranged. Months passed and we never received any feedback on the measurement.More time passed and the day of seeding arrived. Shortly thereafter an invoice arrived for the same amount as last year. I called Weed Man and disputed the invoice, explaining that we made several attempts to have the yard measurement adjusted for the pool. A Weed Man representative visited the property and measured the lawn within a day or two.Roughly a week later, we received a reminder email that our balance was overdue. I called Weed Man again and spoke with the manager. He explained that the yard did measure less (he failed to mention it was ***** sqft) but that they were not going to reduce the charges. When I challenged him on that, he responded that since they had considered raising their prices, but didnt, we were paying the same rate as last year. He said that if we would use their contemplated rates and the adjusted yard size, that the amounts would be the same so we really werent paying too much. Aside from being a disingenuous response, it is outrageous, if not illogical, to use a rejected rate increase to justify charging more. I replied that if they werent going to reduce the bill that we would prefer to close our acct. No problem, Ill send you an email. they said. And shortly after that we received a confirmation that our 7+ year old account had been closed. It was a complete and utter disregard for customer satisfaction. Shame on Weed Man. I say good riddance to this poorly run franchisee and request that my account balance be cleared upon receipt of my $400 payment.
