This is a total scam. The service provided costs more than 5 times what is charged by the ********************* directly.

I just formed an LCC in North Carolina, and I get this letter rather quickly after my business is approved by the state. At first, this notice looked official and I was upset about having to pay $82 since I am a new business with not much in the bank account, and the formation process with the state was not exactly cheap. I thought something looked strange and I ****** searched this company, using the return address on the envelope. I saw there were numerous complaints to the BBB that this company is a scam. I also learned this filing fee is not required by the state, and most of all the state would not use some 3rd party service (I learned this is a 3rd party on the ****** search). The return address on the envelope came up as some print shop in *******. Let this be a warning to other new business owners out there to NOT pay them!!

This is a scam and these folks should be prosecuted for their misleading and predatory mailers.

Received a solicitation from this company today with an address of ************************************************ Business name is NC Certificate Service. The letter looks very official. Why pay $82 for something you can get free from the NCSOS website? This company needs to be investigated for fraudulent practices!! They do not deserve even 1 star.

I received info included with my State registration WARNING ME OF SCAMS regarding this. My concern: Why hasn't the state stopped them from continuing this SCAM!???? MY THOUGHTS: I thought we are supposed to be protected from price gouging businesses & companies!! This company charges $82.00 for a $10.00 service & $2.00 electronic fee, provided by the State. HOWEVER!!! This is a "service" & I use that very loosely! Because a service would tell you your rights to obtain the info (90% off their price) from the State of NC. The letter looks official! Businesses are required to tell you they are a PRIVATE company soliciting business & not affiliated with the State!! They do in fine print.

This place contacted me, I went to the BBB to see what their rating is and if a scam. I was alarmed. Their address has changed from what is posted.
