Blue Ridge Surgery Center requires a payment the date of surgery depending on an estimate of how much insurance will cover. They state they will reimburse the amount they overcharge when the claim is sent to insurance. I paid $3,932.71 on January 12, 2024, the morning of my surgery. My insurance received the claim and it stated I only owed the surgery center $2,163.96. I tried multiple times to email and call the surgery center to receive my refund. I spoke to someone over phone one time despite making dozens of calls and leaving voicemails each time. After this call, I was only refunded $300.13 to the Care Credit account on April 18, 2024 from the surgery center. They continue to ignore my emails and will not return voicemails

The patient paid the estimated amount due of $3137.07 at check-in with Care Credit. After insurance processed, it left a total patient responsibility of $2836.94 ($2163.96 for the insurance portion and $672.98 for the implant cost). We refunded the overpayment of $300.13 on 4/18. I spoke with the patient today 8/2 and went over the charges/payments/amount refunded.

I created a payment plan with them starting in February for a surgery I had. They continued to charge me $95 of the payment plan until I told them to stop. They didnt stop and now owe me $271.89. They told me I would be refunded yet instead charged me $208 today. All I want is my refund so I have called and messaged and today ****** an employee there cancelled out all of my message requests without an answer.

There were multiple payment plans set up for this patient's account. One was set up by our team and the other online by the patient. This resulted in an overdraft and a credit balance on the account. We manually refunded the amount due back to the patient of $366.79 on 5/17 back to the patient's card that was used. However, the system also refunded both of the last payments from the payment plans at the same time. One transaction of $108.22 and one transaction of $95.00 was additionally refunded to the patient in error. There is now an open balance on the account since the system processed additional refunds. We called and left the patient a voicemail on 5/23 and 5/24 to advise them of what happened and of the open balance on the account.

I am rejecting this response because:
There were multiple payment plans set up due to different accounts, one for anesthesia and one to the center. I have received the payment after my 2 months of asking and calling and emailing. I have no payments left and will not be returning after this hassle. Thanks!

      Sincerely,

I paid for 200 units of botox on 11/15/2022 for a medical procedure (R-CPD botox treatment) that was performed on 12/22/2022 at Blue Ridge Surgery Center by ********************************************* (associated with ************************** in *******, **.) I only received 100 units of botox versus the originally paid for 200 units, as discussed with the doctor, and I was promised to be refunded the difference. The amount I paid was $1250 and I was told I would receive half of that amount back, as I only received half of the botox amount.I am writing to file a formal complaint against Blue Ridge Surgery for their failure to refund me the amount of $625 that is rightfully owed to **** have made numerous calls over the past 4 months to resolve the matter with multiple representatives of the billing office and the center. The billing office ultimately denied the refund and then I was told to contact a manager in the center. I did so and they are not responsive. This is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior for any business, especially one in the healthcare industry. On the day of my procedure, I was assured by a representative at the surgery center that I would be issued a refund for half of the amount of botox units that I had paid for. They stated all I had to do was speak with the billing office and they would issue the refund. This was not true. This manner of business is completely unacceptable, and I wish for Blue Ridge Surgery to issue my refund for a product/service that was not provided to **** trust that the Better Business Bureau will take this matter seriously and hold Blue Ridge Surgery accountable for their actions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. If any paperwork or documents are required, I will provide them.

I had hip replacement surgery at the **** 12/21/22. The nurses and administrative staff I encountered that day were excellent. However, their billing policies are ridiculous. I received a phone call out of the blue two weeks before surgery asking me to pay over $2900 before my surgery and he asked for payment over the phone. I never expected to have to pay up front, so of course I was suspicious of such a call. I did later confirm it was a real request, so I applied for the no interest CareCredit account to pay this. I assumed it was close to accurate as to what I would owe. In late January i received an EOB from my insurance that showed **** owed me over ******* refund. I called **** on 2/1/23 and was told i would have a refund within 30 days. That was not true. Called today to see where the money was and was told it had to go through contractural review. Another 30 days! Meanwhile, I owe my surgeon and anesthesiologist money that is sitting there with ****. The customer service person today was unable to give me someone to whom to escalate the situation.so here I am. I need this refund to pay the doctors by next week. Help!
