Neighbor above my condo had water heater replaced. Due to incompetent installation,a leak soaked her utility room and after several days leaked down to mine. Pipetechs after first vowing to remedy only hired **** ***** Restoration to dry my unit. After several days of drying, **** ***** techs said humidity levels were down and they stopped drying. They also said that due to mold and mildew growing on the walls, the drywall needed to be replaced. After several calls to 3 different Pipetechs employees, Jacob, Steve, and April, they have refused responsibility for this issue that their installer created. This a total abrogation of their responsibility and disregard for the health issues this mold, mildew creates.Business response

We have reached out to Mr.***** this morning to have our drywall representative come out to take a look at what the customer is wanting. We will only replace any sheet rock that may have been affected by water from above unit. If he could provide pictures of damages he is claiming we caused.Customer response

I hired Pipetechs to replace my kitchen sink. which they did on Feb 16, 2022. When I came home from work I looked at the sink and noticed that the countertop had been cracked in the back left corner. I called Pipetechs and complained. They said they would take care of it. After waiting a few days, my husband called and was told they were getting their insurance company involved and they would be in touch. After waiting several weeks with no communication, I called back and they said that they had talked to the tech and he took pictures proving the counter was not cracked during the installation. I told them my visually impaired husband said the tech had taken a picture from 3 ft away but he wouldn't have seen the crack because I couldn't see it from that vantage point. I asked them to send me the photo which they have not. The office manager also said the owner would be in tough with me but another 2 weeks have gone by and still no communication. This counter top was new in 2014. The new sink installed in 2014 was defective and had a small crack in the right back corner which was why we were replacing the sink. Pipetechs also charged us $200 more than the original estimate because we had bought a new disposal although we had called and asked about it ahead of time and we were told it didn't matter because the estimate included removing the old disposal from the old sink and putting it back on the new sink and it would not be more work to put on the new disposal. I called ***** **** and they said home owner insurance doesn't cover damage by incompetent workman and suggested I sue Pipetech but decided to call BBB first.Business response

The customer called after we installed the sink and stated her counter was cracked. We do have pictures of before and after, our work was performed and there were no cracks in our pictures. She has sent us pictures showing a crack at the side of the sink. I will be attaching the pictures. We can work with the customer and turn over to our insurance if necessary, However we do not believe this is fault of our work.

What we can do is send a countertop company out to access the issue. Then based on the findings we can look into getting this repaired or replaced for her. If you could please provide 3 best dates & times so I can have those when I call the countertop company to line up an appointment.Customer response
