I paid half of my deposit on 10/27/22 but job not started until 5/10/23, stating materials unavailable as the reason for delay. No project manager on site daily to monitor the progress. For days at a time no one showed up, and my roof was not tarped correctly even though lots of rain.Mid June, they finished and I contacted project manager immediately to voice concerns on items that needed ************** was unsatisfied with the appearance. He said there was nothing they could do about the appearance but made a list of unfinished items. He said it was his last day on the job but would pass list on to someone else to have items fixed. No one came to fix it. And when I called the company no one answered. One of the workers contacted me to sell me gutter guards, and informed me that the company went bankrupt and closed. The job was incomplete, pallets of heavy materials were left in my driveway,& gutters clogged with debris. I paid to have materials removed. In Sept my roof leaked, water poured onto the floor. The company that fixed it showed me the errors made by covenant roofing which caused the leak, many which were basic errors likely done from inexperienced workers with no supervision. Everything covenant did needs to be redone and I have water damage to fix. And also pay for legal counsel as I got a bill for the other half of the money. I should not have to pay for a job that was incompletely done (& incorrectly), and I lost any warranty to the work because the company closed. Just because a company files bankruptcy, they should not lose accountability.I am going into debt over this, and I could possibly lose my home because Im not sure if I can afford damages and legal fees. Please protect the consumer and hold someone accountable for this negligence.

This company failed to provide accurate systems and information to homeowner, using under qualified staff to execute system designs who did not understand solar. Their staff unknowingly mislead customer about the reality of their system and the savings. Add in the used car salesman that had no problem lying to a customers face and you have covenant. Which is why they went bankrupt. I believe the owner funneled money away from the company for his own personal reasons as well.

I had a leak in my roof. My insurance company sent out someone to look at it. They then referred me to covenant construction and solar homes. Covenant came out said what the problem was help me file a claim once the claim was excepted for a full roof replacement on June 3, I paid covenant over $**** which was half of what was due to get the roof fixed and a ceiling in the closet repaired. I did not hear back from them. I called them and asked when we were going to set up a time and was told they were having problems getting some materials. That evening I received an email saying that they were filing bankruptcy, and that I would have to reach out to the trustee after they file bankruptcy to say I wanted to be part of the claim . I feel like this company knew when they took my money that they were filing bankruptcy. They knew they were not going to be able to do the job that they contractually were buying it to do and now Im out of over **** close to $7000 and I have a leaky roof that I cannot get fixed .

Date the Roof was put on my house and outbuilding and money paid 11-1-17. at a total cost of $12,803. Covenant roofing botched the installation of my roof. They did not cut the underliner at the eaves of the house before installing the ridge vents. This led to the buildup of moisture and I now have a mold issue. I contacted ***** at Covenant about the problem Wednesday June 2 2021. We made an appointment for them to inspect the ridge vents. They were a no show but unbeknownst to me, a crew came out the and removed the underliner without my permission to be on my roof. I contacted ***** with Covenant he following week, Monday June 7 2021, she said a group came out and removed the underliner. They still have not come out to fix the damage.

Covenant Roofing was contacted by the above referenced customer in August of 2021, unsure of a specific date unfortunately, but it was not in June. He requested that someone come out to take a look at the roof on his "barn" because he had noticed mold/mildew issues and the cause of this was due to the synthetic underlayment covering the ridge ventilation opening. The warranty manager was made aware of the customer's concern, and included it as part of his schedule. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding with scheduling, a subcontractor of Covenant was sent out to assess the situation. The directive given was to please check the customer's ridge vent, he is claiming the ridge vent is covered by underlayment not allowing proper ventilation. By design, our warranty department uses subcontractors to assist with warranty issues, and these individuals are not part of the original crews used to install our roofs. In addition, they are paid a fee to inspect issues and if additional work or repairs are necessary they will perform the repair and invoice accordingly. This removes any bias with regards to repairs being completed temporarily, incorrectly or by saying it is not part of the work we originally completed. We want to be transparent with our customers, and to assure them that corners are not being cut in order to save time or money. In addition, our subcontractors benefit from doing their job thoroughly and correctly, since they bill according to the size and scope of work completed at each repair.
With regards to accessing a customer's roof, it is Covenant's policy that either a customer be home and/or aware of our arrival prior to climbing on a customer's roof. In this particular instance, the subcontractor received the customer's address prior to the job being scheduled and went to the customer's house to check out the customer's issue and upon arrival he knocked on the door, and thought someone was there but didn't answer the door, which happens from time to time when arriving at a customers and a teenager is home, etc. So, not realizing the appointment hadn't been set, he proceeded to check the area of the roof that the customer had indicated was the issue. Without removing the ridge vent he was able to see that the underlayment was not covering ridge opening, took a photo to send to the warranty manager, loaded up his ladder and moved on to the next job. Several days later, August 26th, I spoke to the customer about our findings at which time he expressed concerns about nobody being home, so I apologized and told him I would speak with our subcontractor to be sure it didn't happen again. In addition, I explained to him that there was no problem with his ridge being covered, explained that many times customers see the plastic from a ridge vent and its a understandable mistake, and followed up with a text message to him with the picture provided by the subcontractor showing that his ridge was not covered by underlayment and everything was installed correctly. I have provided a copy of a screenshot that shows the timestamped text containing the picture I sent to the customer after our conversation. At no time did he express concerns with regards to us showing up and trying to correct a mistake and then coming back again to prove his claim to be incorrect. As explained previously, we do our best to avoid these type of accusations and it is why we have subcontractors, not employees of Covenant, assess and complete repairs as needed. If anything, our subcontractors would benefit from finding faults and/or necessary repairs versus trying to hide mistakes from customers.
It is always our intention to be sure we provide a quality roof install, and we do provide a 5 year warranty that covers the installation. We have completed countless warranty related repairs and want to provide the best customer service possible, and we do not shy away from standing behind our work. Unfortunately, it appears there may be a issue that exists that is unrelated to our roof installation and due to a misunderstanding where our subcontractor unintentionally checked out a warranty claim without realizing the homeowner was in fact home, a claim has been filed that is without merit. We do not shy away from standing behind our work, and certainly would not shy away from correcting a mistake. The customer's warranty is still in place, and we are more than happy to correct any issues that are related to the roof install within the 5 year warranty period but this particular claim has been assessed, the customer was apologized to for the misunderstanding with the scheduling, and documented evidence was provided to show the issue is not related to our install.
