On September 12, 2023 my next door neighbor, *****************************, hired Ashland Tree Services to remove a 60+ foot tree from his yard. Unfortunately the job did not go as planned and luckily no one was hurt or killed, but my home and property sustained considerable damages. Included were destruction of two 6-foot sections of a privacy fence, structural and roof damage to an out building including loss of gutters and gutter guards, structural and roof damage to the screened-in porch on my home including destruction of cathedral eave, loss of siding, damage to skylights and considerable damage to shingles and underlying plywood, loss of dogwood tree, azalea plant and hibiscus plant. A claim was filed with Ashland's insurance company, ************** Services (***********************************************/ **************/certificate #*********/policy #PCCM448656) and the case was referred to Golden State Claims Adjusters (Ms. ******************************************************************* In October, 2023, a claims estimator came to the home to assess the damages (files with pictures of damages as well as approximate costs for repair reside with Golden State but were assessed at approximately $6000). After 6 months of very little communication and lack of response to inquiries, I received notification from ************** Services that they and Golden State were closing the files on this claim due to lack of compliance on the part of Ashland Tree Services (for lack of remittance of a $2500 self-insured indemnity fee). Keep in mind I was nothing more than an innocent bystander to a job gone horribly wrong and am now being "stonewalled" by all parties in attempts to recover damages and get my home repaired. The problem is only getting worse due to weather conditions and wildlife taking up residence. I am a single, retired, elderly woman on a fixed income who is requesting your assistance in resolving this matter. It is frustrating to say the least and just plain wrong that I have had to spend countless hours working on this.
