On July 3, 2024 I worked with ******************* from IDeal Auto ******* location to purchase a 2016 F-150. During the walkaround of the vehicle, a small chip was noticed in the windshield. This chip was noted on the paperwork. We were instructed to have the chip repaired at a vendor where **** sent us and after we would be reimbursed for the repair. I live outside the ******* area and the repair has was completed closer to my home, I have made multiple telephone call attempts and submitted the receipt to be reimbursed for the repair. Each time I'm promised that the check and the final purchase paperwork are going to be sent immediately and I will receive a tracking number. I have not been reimbursed nor have I received the paperwork I requested.

Bought a car for $25,000 two days later the vehicle needed oil. I called the company and they told me that I couldnt return the vehicle and they would let their mechanic look at it. There ended up being a major problem with the vehicle and it cost $2200 to fix. After the fix the vehicle still needed oil and oil light kept coming on. The vehicle used 2-3qts of oil a week.

We apologize for the issue **************** has experienced with the vehicle she purchased. **************** purchased a Audi Q7 with over 100k miles. *** of our vehicles with over 100k miles are sold AS/IS no warranty. However, extended service contracts can be purchased from us and this customer chose not to purchase one. The customer knew this vehicle was sold as/is as it was fully disclosed. We did however in good faith try to help ***************** by paying for 1/2 of the repair done to the vehicle. We also reimbursed ***************** thirty five dollars daily for a rental car. We discounted the vehicle for ***************** at the time of sale, participated in helping with a repair on a vehicle as well as helped with a rental.

Purchased a vehicle from them on November 12th. Drive 3 hours to pick it up and noticed the windshield was cracked. Which was never disclosed(pretty sure its a law). Asked manager about it and he stated we will fix at our cost. Got that statement put into the promised paperwork. Fast forward three weeks and I cant even get a response now. The windshield crack has got worse. Ideal wanted me to get a quote from a mom and pop glass company to fix. I contacted several , all stating they couldnt work on it because it was a Tesla and they didnt have the software to reprogram cameras. Which they knew from the beginning! Ideal then asked me to get a quote from Safelite. I did, sent it over to them and no response once again. Ideal finally responded and asked what my insurance deductible was and they would pay it. I declined and stated Im not doing that because it will make my insurance premium increase. Im still with a damaged windshield that has got worse and is not repairable, only replaceable. Save yourself trouble and buy elsewhere. Customer service since purchase has been horrible and extremely unorganized!Ill be posting pictures of the text messages and proof!

We apologize for the inconvenience ******************** experienced. I spoke with him personally once I was alerted to the issue he was having. ******************** told me he was very happy with the fact that the manager ******************* was able to meet him on a Sunday to complete his purchase. As his salesperson had a prior commitment and was unable to do so. He was also very pleased with how the transaction was completed that day. After the fact however his salesperson who was unable to meet the day of the  purchase did not handle the windshield situation to the customers satisfaction. Ideal Auto had the chip/crack in the windshield repaired prior to the sale. The customer stated at the time of purchase he wanted the windshield replaced. Ideal agreed and it should have been taken care of as soon as the customer returned home to SC. I believe the salesperson did not properly note what was agreed to. It should also be noted the customer had an accident with a deer a few days after the purchase. It should also be noted this particular sales person is new to ideal auto. We immediately had the windshield replaced one I looked into the situation. I personally assisted the customer and made sure everything was taken care of to his complete satisfaction. We have since also changed our process to make sure something like this does not happen again in the future. We want to thank  ******************** for his valued business and hope that we may assist him again in the future.

Vehicle was purchased at Ideal Auto on 7/31/2023. A few items were noted during the purchase, therefore a We owe was completed by the dealership. The items on the We Owe were not completed, caused further issue, required family hardship, and required out of pocket expense of $3,000. The main item to be fixed was an oil leak the vehicle had. 1st attempt to fix was unsuccessful, vehicle was still actively leaking oil. Returned for another appointment, was told it would be 3 weeks in order to have the truck looked at by a local diesel mechanic we agreed on. Called mechanic to check on truck after not hearing from dealership in weeks and they hadnt seen vehicle. Dealership chose to use their mechanic. Picked up vehicle, still actively leaking oil. Take vehicle to Chevrolet dealership and learn that a repair was attempted on the rear main seal, but completed incorrectly, with multiple other items broken in the transmission in the process. Shoddy work - problem not fixed. Warranty didnt cover fully cost to repair. Out of pocket expense $3,000. Additionally leak in floorboard was to be repaired. Also repaired incorrectly as leak is coming from windshield that was put in wrong. Additional out of pocket expense of $200. Additionally, vehicle has been in our possession for 10 days of 3 months while actively making payments. We are a ****** family woth full time jobs and have had quite the trouble only having 1 vehicle for 3 months.

We agreed to fix this problem. We told the customer the local diesel shop was booked solid and it would be a couple weeks before they could fix the vehicle. The customer chose to leave the vehicle during that time. During this time the vehicle did not drip any oil. The vehicle was brought back at a later time and we had our own mechanic look at the truck. We discovered someone had previously tried to repair the truck. ************ cleaned all the old oil under the truck and advised the customer drive the truck so that we could determine in fact where the leak was coming from. It was impossible to tell without doing this. As you can tell it was very clean in the picture and the leak can be easily seen. We are more than happy to take care of this problem. We now have our own mechanic shop and we will be servicing all of our vehicles, instead of depending on outside shops who may not care as much that the vehicles are one hundred percent ready before they are sold.

Transaction date was 3/04/23 Before I purchased this vehicle, I contacted the owner *********************, and asked if the vehicle had a clean Carfax report, and was accident free to which he replied yes.(I have the text saved) as it turns out despite what I was told the truck had been in a major accident. Once I purchased a vehicle, ****** proceeded to tell me that he had in fact done, body work and paint and other exterior repairs to the truck, I was very specific with him about not wanting to buy a wrecked vehicle. On March 15 I informed ****** via text message that I noticed that the vehicle had in fact been wrecked, and he was dishonest with me. This does not even take into account. The fact that I was supposed to be brought the vehicle to preview two days before the sale, which he did not do, on top of a lie about being wrecked is only the tip of the iceburg. Almost immediately after driving off of the lot, the check engine light came on and car basically went into limp mode because it was misfiring. ****** also failed to mention to me that the truck had major motor work done and wasnt done properly. The sun roof is leaking and continues to leak to this day, although he was notified immediately of the problem and is likely due to it being wrecked. My biggest issue was the frame damage and being lied to and misled about the condition of the vehicle before the sale intentionally. After these discoveries, ****** then told me he would trade the vehicle for the price that I paid and has yet to follow through this started in March, he had three vehicles on the lot which I tried to purchase and told him I wanted. Hes sold the first two despite me telling him I wanted to vehicles and him actually bringing them to the shop for me to preview the third vehicle. I finally went to the car lot, he then proceeded to tell me that my truck had decreased in value, and he wasnt able to make the trade that he could only trade for a similar truck. Please help.

We have been back and forth over this vehicle for months. We speak with this customer almost daily as he is a mechanic where all of our cars are serviced. The customer has told me he was happy with the truck and then later he is not happy with the truck. I gave him a landrover to drive for a weekend to see if he wanted to trade for it. He brought it back damaged and said he was sorry for the damage and he would let me know later if he wanted it. Later someone else bought it. **** has asked us to help with a couple issues he had with with the truck and we did. I tried to pickup the truck last week and fix the water leak but he decided not to let us. At this point I want to remind the customer the truck was state inspected and sold as is. We are willing to take care of the water leak and trade for an equal truck.

I am rejecting this response because:

I do like the truck, however I was lied to directly by the owner about its condition and the longer I have kept it the more damage I find. He knew the truck had been damaged in an accident before being directly asked and lying about it to make a sale. He did bring a land rover, that was hit by a rock on the highway. I informed them I wanted the truck but it was sold anyways. He brought a second land rover a 2017 lr5 first edition, same situation I told him I wanted it and it was sold . The third vehicle was a ****** armada l, which again they brought to me and went I went to trade he said he could only trade for a similar truck, I have text message evidence of all of this and we can also speak with his manager *** who had been told about all of this. He does not want to take the truck back bc he knows he will now have to sell it as a frame damaged/repaired vehicle and has already complained multiple times about losing money on the truck bc it had already cost him to much to repair! Again I have text records I am happy to provide. He has also been telling me for months about trading for a apples to apples vehicle to trade for but has yet to provide one.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

I am rejecting this response because:
First of all giving me a 7 day ultimatum on a problem you have known about since March 14 is a bit of a stretch. You are also NOT acknowledging the fact you lied and sold me a damaged vehicle when i specifically asked you directly. You are also NOT acknowledging the fact you sold me a frame damaged vehicle which Im pretty sure the *** and DMV would be interested in hearing about. Last but not least you have been talking about trading for a similar truck since I bought this vehicle and I dont intended on waiting any longer to trade this truck. The last time I came to trade you basically said you couldnt do it bc there numbers werent in YOUR favor and again mentioned how much you were losing on this truck. Let me remind you this is after you brought me the vehicle, and then asked me for my mileage and payoff (which I have text message of) Im not sure what kind of other solution we can come to because you dont seem interested in any sort of compromise.
      Sincerely,

      ***************************

I purchased this vehicle on July 25th 2022 in ******* NC and drove it back home to ******** which was about 90 miles...I've only put 140 miles on the vehicle and I got a message stating "drive train malfunction".I contacted the dealership and ******* told me that this was common with this kind of vehicle and not to worry about it that it would reset itself.Well 2 days later the engine light comes on,mind u I've only had possession of this vehicle for 5 days.Since then I've called repeatedly to the business phone and to **** and ******* personal phones with no response. The part that really turns my stomach is that I was dealing with ****,he sold me the car and he may very well be the owner I'm not sure and he gave me his word that he stands behind his cars that's why he's been in business so long but he doesn't. I've had absolutely no contact with him since I bought the car from him, nothing!

I bought a 2016 SUV last month (March 2021). I flew out to ** to pick the car up and sign paperwork. **** sold me the vehicle, on the drive back both of my car moldings flew off, then 4 days later the check engine light came on in the vehicle. Also, they was supposed to fix the molding prior to me picking it up and they told me they did, but they didn't which is why they flew off. They told me they would reimburse me for the moldings, but now refusing to do so. I also haven't even received my tags either and it's been almost a month now! This is a horrible place to buy a vehicle from.

      Business response

      08/28/2023

We apologize for the inconvenience. We had the molding replaced and thought they were secured properly. However they were not. I believe we have taken care of the issues now. Also the tags will take a full month to be processed in some states depending on that states DMV
