On Wednesday, February 16, 2022 a member of UMS arrived at my home to replace the water utility meter as part of an initiative by the city. The individual, whom I did not get the name of, tried to shut off the water main to complete the required work, but was unable to. The individual left saying that they would have to reschedule. On Friday February 18, 2022 I noticed a pool of water collecting in the basement. He removed items and noticed water dripping from one of the valves the UMS employee had tried to close (picture below.) The damage to the property totaled $890, from rugs, and paintings that were damaged. I tried to reach out to the company about the damage, and the company responded by sending out more workers to complete the replacement on February 21, during which time the water utility meter was replaced. I asked all three workers that were present about a claim form, and they said I would receive a call with information about it by their supervisor later. 1 week passed and I still did not receive my claim form so I called the City of ****************, as I was unable to reach out to the company, they got in contact with UMS whom finally emailed me the form on March 2. I received this form from Mr.******, I filled out the form with all of the damage report and sent it back that same day. UMS then took 4 weeks to get back to me, before Mr. ***** denied my claim because "the leak was reported 7 days after the meter installation" even though I initially reported it to them 2 days after, UMS deliberately delayed in getting me the claim paperwork so they could deny me and not pay for the damage that they caused
