I called and spoke with them on the phone about setting up liability only insurance 3 1/2 years ago and again 1 1/2 years ago when i changed my vehicle. They have been charging for full coverage all this time and are doing nothing to resolve this issue. I would not recommend using this insurance agent as they will steal your money in a sense. I have been getting charged for a coverage i did not sign up for for the past 3 1/2 years. One of the vehicles that i had is now sitting in a junkyard totaled with no insurance settlement due to the fact that i thought i had liability only coverage during the time.Business response

Below is in response to Mr. ******* complaint:Our consistent procedure for writing an auto policy involves obtaining all data to quote, asking about and educating the client on coverages and providing a price, as well as, the value of State Farm and our agency.These set procedures have been in place and followed since the inception of the Dereda Porter Agency since October 2001. All applications are checked to verify that the policy is issued as quoted for both price and coverages. There is a documented note on file that states Mr. ******* policy issued as quoted.Under no circumstances do we pick a customer’s coverages for them. At one point in time, Mr. Dargo agreed on the coverages on the policy. The initial payment for those coverages would have matched his initial payment of premium.In addition, there is a declaration page sent every 6 months that states the coverages and price on the vehicle. The consumer is expected to review the coverages and call with any questions or concerns if there is a discrepancy. Mr. Dargo would have received 5 declaration pages stating his coverages on his vehicle since the inception of his policy.We are aware that insurance can be confusing and are completely willing to educate our customers on their choices for coverage and price; however, we do not choose or alter coverages without the customer’s consent.Unfortunately, initially there was a decision by the customer to have these coverages and over time, his needs may have changed but we were not instructed to make any changes.We are happy to answer any additional questions and you are welcome to contact us via phone or email. We are completely transparent about our consistent procedures that are trained and reinforced through quality assurance measures.
