July 8, 2022 roofer did work at *** ******** *****, a rental home owned by Mr. ****. Work was completed the same day. Mr. **** is retired from decades in the home construction and remodeling industry. Early on the morning of July 8th Mr. **** spoke simultaneously with the on-site job supervisor and the owner of the company (via telephone). He specifically stated he wanted the wood under the roof replaced so as the roof would not appear wavy. Both the supervisor and the owner agreed to perform the job per Mr. ****'s specifications. Later that same day an updated invoice was sent via email to Mr. **** indicating the increased cost with the addition of more lumber. That was the third increase to the invoice. Once the job was completed and after the crew left, Mr. **** inspected the work and and realized the job was not performed to his specifications and the roof was indeed very wavy, indicative of not completing the job as requested. Mr. **** is withholding payment until the job is completed properly and the roof is level and straight. On July 14rh Providence Roofing LLC placed a lien upon the property. (Case number *******  Mr. **** can provide video of inside the attic after the roof was replaced where you can clearly see nails not attached to anything and old lumber in place. He has received several estimates from other roofers to fix the roof in question and all state the new roof must now be replaced to repair the sagging lumber underneath. Mr. **** is very hesitant to allow Providence Roofing access to his property to fix the roof because he was led astray the first time and feels duped by the owner. He instructed the owner and supervisor the exact procedure to use and was ignored. Providence Roofing must make the roof right through paying for someone else to do the work since they were unable to do it right the first time.
