I joined this companies membership program, The Club on 8/10/23. I signed up to pay monthly for $395 a month. After 90 days, I realized that this program was not a good fit for me and it wasn't meeting my expectation as a business owner. This program is more for newbies and not someone like me who has been an entrepreneur for 6 years. On November 2nd, I sent an email to her team requesting to cancel my monthly membership. I didn't receive a response. I sent a follow up email on November 6th requesting to cancel my monthly membership. I received a response that said " Hi Leah, Thanks for reaching out. Upon checking, you're currently enrolled in an annual membership with monthly payment installments. As outlined in the Terms and Agreement you accepted upon registration, our monthly plan requires a 12-month commitment until 08/10/2024. Please note that cancellation within this period is not possible. If you cancel it will be effective 08/10/2024." In the terms and agreement, It doesn't say that a 12-month commitment is required. I was also told that if you cancel in less than a year, you weren't allowed to reinstate your membership for a year. I just want my membership canceled without having to find a lawyer and have a legal issue.Customer response

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. This business continues to send me generic emails saying that they won't cancel my membership. I have already did a stop payment on my card so they can't access my money because they won't honor my request to cancel.Initial Complaint

Amount disputed: $4,345 (Fees for remaining 11 months) Timeline of events: On September 29: I joined the Hello7 Business club and paid $395 under the perception that I was signing up for a monthly subscription service. There was no contract or terms. It was just the typical online subscription actions in a decorated interface. On October 5 (7 days later): I requested to cancel my membership because I discovered that the club had public complaints of practices that go against my values and did not offer the business services they advertised. For example, the community was an inactive private ******** group, they advertise as women only, but there were men in the group (and no I'm not being transphobic there were men who identified as men present), there were downloadable PDFs with very generic advice and not "specific action steps you need to take to grow from one level to the next level as advertised", there were only 3 business coaches available to support the entire program On September 5: I was told I couldn’t cancel the membership because it was a 12 month commitment. I requested to pay an early cancellation fee or penalty to terminate the agreement. The representative Isabella T***** stated they did not have one. I told Ms. T***** I am not willing to continue to pay for services I do not want and if there is no early termination or cancellation fee I should not continue to be charged for the service On October 19: I received another email from Ms. T***** on behalf of Hello Seven restating that they would charge me each month for the membership. There is no way to cancel the contract and I’m locked in even if I do not use the service.Customer response
