DL has been so nasty & incompetent, we don,t want him back, just a refund. our deck's previouse epoxy coating lasted 6 yrs but was now cracking. DL said he had a better coating that would last 10 yrs. We paid a deposit on 10/28/21 He put the coating on ignoring all the important instructions, ( like adding a 2nd coat within 2 hrs & 2 coats of sealer) & the surface prep,- (sanding, cleaning, & drying) He just rolled it on over dirt, debris, bird poop... The coating failed within hrs. it began w/cracking then peeling. We canceled his 2nd check, He had a huge tantrum, then wanted to add a 2nd coat, & get a 2nd check, but never offered any other solutions. We spoke to the roller rock co. rep who said a 2nd coat would fail as well. we tried on 2 test areas and it did. (see pic. with blue tape, & 1 next to it) the rep. said it might have stuck to the epoxy if the epoxy wasn't on a wood base (wood expands & contracts) & if the instructions were fallowed which they were not but in this case it would have failed anyway because DL used the wrong product for the job, roller rock cement coating cannot be used on wood or anything with a wood base. He said the only product DL should have used was a rubberized 1. DL Then texted that he had mixed the 2 products together before arriving at the site- (complete malpractice) see Cris's email the r.rock cannot be mixed w/other products. our deck is a peeling mess. DL won't refund our $1,287.50 deposit. we have no problem paying him for the shingle & gutter repair $150 not his later change to $350
