Hired *********************** with Islandscapes in January 2023. Quoted me $18k for a large job at my newly constructed home. He saw my vision and came across as a really likeable and trustworthy guy. I could never have been so wrong about someone. Showed up on the first two days just like he said he would. One guy worked his **** off to lay half a yard of Zoysia sod. Told me not to water it because it was dormant anyway. Several weeks went by before they showed up again but only because of my constant calling or texting. Always an excuse....supplies not available, he had *****, had the flu, fired his workers several times because they were taking advantage of him, got hit by a car, and the list goes on and on. Told me he didn't want to let me down but did so many many times. Brick work around my pool didn't match and was short on one side.....gravel rock driveway didn't match, landscape fabric wasn't installed at all, wrong kind of plants than he promised, dead palm trees, and the piece de resistance....dead grass. Told me he wanted to re-sod it and that he had already purchased materials thru a specific sod company. Called them and they had no order for my home and in fact, he owed them money as well. When sod was being laid initially, the pallets would be delivered and would sit in my yard for 2 weeks or more before anyone would show up to out it down. He would say he was sending a crew to finish the job and if a worker showed up, it would be only one person. Called me to tell me he was giving me two free palm trees leftover from another job and asked where I wanted them placed. Told him that same evening where to put them and never heard back from him and never got the trees. Promised me one year of free weekly lawncare because rhe job was taking so long. I think someone cut the grass twice but can't be sure since the grass was dead anyway. Lie after lie....totally lost trust in him and cannot come close to recommending him. One year later. customer was fully refunded and yes some times things happen, i admit it should have been handled a lot different all i can do is learn from my decisions.

While I was refunded a large portion of the money I gave him up front, I was NOT refunded in full as **** has stated in his response. To be clear, I pursued an estimate from ************ that **** told me he was going to use to re-sod the yard and that is what I used as a basis for my refund request. In all fairness to him, they did do some work and there are some materials that had to be purchased so I allowed him to keep some of the money I paid him for that. However, there is still so much work that I will need to do myself to make things the way they were promised to be. Unless I find something else that wasn't done correctly, I am no longer pursuing him for the additional funds.

This job has lingered for months. The job was not completed in a timely fashion as what we agreed upon, the owner completed the job and was paid. However, the bricks began to get cloudy in a couple of days, due to sand that was placed int he cracks as motor for the bricks. I took pictures and sent it to him. He assured me he was going to get it right and he didn't. He has more excuses that I have grass in my yard. The temperatures were not right, it might rain and so on. It has been two months since the job was "completed" and my brick paver driveway looks horrible. I will have no choice but to hire a lawyer and take him to court. What a disaster.Business response

yes we used a product that cause the patio to haze the patio, i used a chemical that will take the hazing off but with the heat index reaching over 100 degrees the label on the chemical advices not to use it, and i have stated this to the customer, i have also stated to the customer that if this product does not work i will redo the patio as well, she informs me that i am incorrect, and i have actually had my lawyer right a later to the **** SAND COMPANY on her behalf and got a response yesterday that if one more cleaning does not work they will pay to have pavers replace, but it takes time to have a big corporate company to respond, as i have stated numerous amounts of times i do have her back and i will replace the pavers if the hazing does not come off.

- Down payment of $1,700 for patio in the backyard sent on 21 Feb 2023 with the agreement the job will be complete by the 2nd week of March.- Date of this report is 12 May 2023, no progress has been made except for a pile of gravel left in our front yard for weeks, surely killing the grass and leading to Multiple neighbor and HOA complaints - Multiple texts and calls from myself and my wife to follow up on when the job will be complete, and **** continuously says "tomorrow", "next week", "supplies on the way" with exact times and dates but never shows or communicates that he will not be able to show as shown in the text exchange attached - Our neighbor had a very similar experience, and there is a ****** review describing similar circumstances.- Multiple plausible excuses given as to why he can't show, but doubt the validity as he circled back to his family having the flu again.- Multiple hours wasted as we wait for **** and/or associates to physically show for the job but never does.- Refund has been requested multiple times but will not give it to us as he claims supplies are already purchased. However, they never show except for a pile of gravel that has sat there for a month.- request the job to be finished by 31 May 2023. If not, request a full refund of down payment.
