In may and June of 2022 we used n cline landscaping to build a patio. They have done work for us before. Very pleased. This patio is awful. It is wavy. And a trip hazard for my parents. He did agree and come out and make it a little better. However. Still a trip hazard. He says it can’t be fixed any better. But we feel it can. They are not all sticking up. Just some of them. We would like our money back to have someone else repair it. Because He has not responded to last few texts.

As to the complaint. Yes I have done work for this customer in the past and have always done there wishes. But this seems to be a continuing issue of doing work it being fine upon completion then weeks to months down the road they want something changed. On this particular job we built a paver patio. This patio was to meet an existing concrete patio and a sidewalk. The sidewalk ran up a slop and had a turn in it. The sidewalk also had settled at the expansion joints making the sidewalk uneven. Upon grading for the patio a sewer/ drain line of 4" hard pipe was found that ran diagonal under where patio was to be. This pipe could not be relocated. I explained all this as grading and work progressed. I explained that trying to make a patio level meeting a walkway that ran uphill and was unlevel itself was impossible that we would have to try to get a happy medium. There were a few spots that were uneven in main body of patio after unexpected settling post compaction. We removed said areas and releveled them. Also I went back and cut pavers that meet walkway on a slope do as there was no raised flat edges meeting walkway. I also went back and resanded areas and installed a more solid ending at the homeowners request. All of which we did at no charge simply trying to satisfy the customer. I have no issue with the customer personally but feel this is just simply someone who can't understand the logistics of trying to make something level meet something unlevel.

I am rejecting this response because:
Please see attached pictures.  We dug up some of the pipe not to far from the patio to see if we could understand why it was so wavy and uneven in so many places.  One  can see the trajectory of the pipe from pics.  One would think it would just have a hump in that area.  But it is wavy and uneven all they way.  Not just where the pipe is. At the edge of the sidewalk, Some of the pavers are flush and some stick out/up as one can see.  See pics
Also, there are areas of pooling water. Now, where the pavers are higher water is pooling on the sidewalk and we were already having an issue with water coming in the basement. Please see pic
Also, the paver edges on the other side are very uneven.  And they are breaking apart in some places.  Please see pic

I have also tried to contact him a few times in November and December. He did not respond.  We have been having some people come in and give us estimates on replacement/repair.
I have since received a text from him since he received the letter from BBB.  But I knew nothing that he said to y’all because I never received a response from him. This patio is not even a year old.  He came a few times to work on it.  Said he would be back but never came and never heard anything from him.

As to the complaint. I have all texts from the customer and only one was not directly replied to. Also as to areas around outside of pavers we brought in topsoil packed it sowed it and covered it with erosion matting. The customer was told to water it to get gras to come up. I can't control the fact that they obviously didn't do so and with slope of patio going to the edges for drainage the topsoil has eroded. Also once again pavers are not concrete and some low areas are possible especially if you are meeting the many different areas that this patio had to meet. Immediately after notice from the BBB I messaged customer with no reply. I also have emailed them a $1,000 check and stated if it was cashed any future contact with me or the BBB was to stop

I am rejecting this response because:
I texted him pretty consistently with my concerns with little response except for once.  But he still never came back for repairs

Now we have a trip hazard, with water being funneled into our basement , and standing water in many areas over the patio.

He is correct we did not respond to his offer of $1000.  We have had several people give us estimates of repair and that will no where cover it.  The pavers will have to be pulled up, the ground leveled correctly, and then relaid.

He told us he could work around the pipe.  He said he was using a new level system that would save him a lot of time.

I included one picture from his website that shows one what good work he can do.  One can see Where the pavers are even, and come together to match  something already existing.
