Jared Miller Roofing has left our *************** job in an incomplete state. He continually uses excuses to not be at the job site, & is not communicative about timeline & next steps. We now realize Jared cant complete the job in a reasonable time or at the quality level promised. He has not done any work since 1/8/24.Quote signed: 7/22/23 Check paid: $16,840 so far 7/24/23 Work start: 11/20/23 Jared working on job site: 11/29/23; 1/8/24 Re-roofing started on 11/20 by a subcontractor who was completely uninformed about the job. Jared was in **, not on the job site. Jared shared none of this information ahead of time. The sub crew used incorrect materials which had to be corrected. The roof was re-shingled in 1 day, however, repairs are still needed almost 4 months later nails driven into finished interior space, vents need to be moved & replaced, roof ridges unfinished, trash remains on job site. He guided us to use polycarbonate that was too thick to conform to the skylight properly. We wrote to him with concern that the material would be in too much tension, & offered a test piece. He reassured us it would be fine. When he attached the polycarbonate to the custom flashing 1/8, it ripped the screws out of the roof decking & pulled up shingles. He had every opportunity to review the original design, disassemble it, take measurements, etc. He did none of these things to properly prepare for the job. After this happened, we agreed to use fiberglass instead (as per original design). Jared said hed purchase the fiberglass 2/21. When asked of the status a week later, said he did not have the $ to buy it & requested we do so, or give him the $. This is something that we are not willing to do as implementing the wrong material was his mistake. Last contact from Jared was 2/29/24. We have requested a response from him twice on 3/5 & 3/7.The skylight sits incomplete, unsealed with a tarp over it. Repairs to the roofing are still needed as stated above.
