              My husband purchased a Holiday Gift Card from Massage Destination for me. I had every intention of using this GC, but then Covid 19 hit and of course, everything shut down. Recently, I went into Massage Destination to try and use my GC because I finally felt comfortable getting a massage. The girl at the front desk had told me she couldn't find any record of my husband's purchase in the Point of Sale System and she didn't have any answers, so she took my name and number down and would have the manager call me. A day later, the manager did call, but told me that because the GC was purchased Christmas of 2019 and they did extend the use of those GCs purchased prior to Covid (of course how would I have known this, as I have never been to this establishment), they would not except the GC. I even asked, if they'd at least except 1/2 of it and I pay the rest, but it was a flat out "no" and nothing more. I am upset because this would have been my first time there getting a massage and maybe becoming a potential regular and my husband paid money for a GC that I can never use. They got their money. I owned a massage studio for five years and we never had expiration dates on our GC and even if someone came in for the first time to use the GC after an extended period of time we'd honor it because that person could possibly end up becoming a member and it is just good business and good customer service. The way I was treated and dismissed without any consideration due to the Covid pandemic is unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

              This is 2022 and the GC that was sold was December 2019 with a clear expiration date printed on the back. We did extend these GC's to be honored till the first quarter of 2021. These GC's were sold by the previous owners with the expiration date. Once we took over the place the first thing we implemented was getting rid of these GC's with expiration dates and implemented new ones that expire as per federal rules. Extending these to over a year and 3 months was a big hit we had to take in an already messed up situation with COVID. We are sorry this happened with you but we are a small business not big corporate company with unlimited resources and i think our extension period was more than generous given we didn't even receive funds for these GC's as they were under the previous owner.
