On 7/23/23, State Roofing was contracted to install gutters on our new shop/garage. They completed most of the job, but did not have the metal pieces to attach the downspouts to the buildings, as well as enough material to completely finish all of the downspouts. We paid them $1400, the cost of the job, with the understanding that they would return to finish. It is now 11/15/23 and they have not only failed to complete the job, but the business has ignored 3 phone messages from myself, as well as two messages from my general contractor. They need to complete the job, or at least drop off the necessary materials so that we may do so, as we PAID them for a completed job.Customer response

We contracted with State Roofing, 342 Hartsoe Rd., Warrensville, NC 28693 for a new metal roof, gutter spouts, and gutter leaf guards on April 21, 2021 for which we paid 75% up front and the balance upon completion of the job on May 29th. The owner, Scott N******, showed us the completed project when he requested final payment, but neither my wife nor I could verify its completion because I have Parkinson's disease and she had just broken her leg, making it physically impossible for either of us to climb a ladder to verify leaf guard installation in the gutters. When Scott was pressed on the installations, he admitted that he might have missed a guard or two, but promised to complete the installation within the next 3-4 days, as we had to rush back to Florida to attend to my wife's recently broken leg ( 2 days and not set or casted yet). Upon arriving at our FL home, we had a contractor go up on our NC roof in late June 2021 and he verified that none of the guards were ever installed. Numerous phone calls, text messages, and emails have been ignored by Scott, and in those rare instances when Scott does answer our call by mistake, he promises to rectify the situation but does nothing. We will be satisfied when the gutter guards are installed, as they have already been paid for in full. in addition, upon our return to Ashe County on April 25, 2022, we found one of the new downspouts floating in our river which now needs to be re-attached. My wife and I are both senior citizens and despite taking every known precaution (paid by credit card and in installments), our inability to climb on the roof to verify job completion left us susceptible to Mr. N******' misrepresentations. We request that the BBB petition State Roofing to complete their work as contracted (copies of contract attached for your reference).
