I purchased version 6 of their Folder Lock software with a lifetime license. When I upgraded my computer to the new version of windows the software stopped working. This company made me re-buy the new version of the same software for which I had already paid in order to have it work with the new windows version. This is not acceptable. A lifetime license means just that. It does not mean just for the current windows version. I request this company issue a refund and allow me to keep the new license key I purchased complimentary as part of honoring that lifetime agreement.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/22) */ The customer purchased the lifetime license which, as stated on the website, entitles him to use for life. It does not however, entitle him to a solution for any operating system, any version, and with any updates. We cannot predict how technology will evolve, nor do we pretend to. The lifetime update offers the customer any updates ever created for the particular version they have purchased. It does not entitle them to lifetime access to any products created in the future, or on operating systems not yet designed. He purchased a version to work on a specific operating system. If he is no longer using that operating system or if the OS has changed or improved the way it operates, that is unfortunately out of our control. As stated, the customer's access to the software and updates for the purchased version will never expire or be cut off. He has lifetime access. To request a refund: the customer would need to give us the order number, and the order would need to be within our refund policy window. We are happy to look into refunding the original order the customer is talking about, provided that it is within that time frame. A refund for the program will cease the customer's access to the program, as the key will be returned. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/11/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) A lifetime license means exactly that. A lifetime. That does not make it dependant on software updates.in that case the license is not a lifetime license but a limited license. A lifetime license does not and should not ever require re-purchase, hence the word lifetime. I again request this contract be honored and the cost of the new license be refunded.
