On April 14th Wilmington mental health issued 3 unauthorized transactions to my account totaling $166.80. I did not give permission to do so, and asked to have it refunded. They said they would. It has been 5 business days and I have no refund in my account still. I have asked twice for a emailed receipt of the refund, and ***** who is the billing receptionist has not sent it to me. They are not giving me any answers and I am unable to pay my other bills because of this.

On 2/15/23 My daughter met with a practitioner at WMH. It was not filed properly with insurance, and instead of refiling they credited my credit card. We had several additional visits while trying to get this resolved. Each of those bills also had to be resent to our insurance and were paid. I have called and emailed with their billing department. In the last 8 months I have spoken to 3 different people in that department as the previous one was no longer employed there. Each one said I have a $40 over payment they need to send me as well as they would take care of resubmitting the insurance for the 2/15/23 visit, which would be an additional refund of $189. On 1/3/24 I spoke with ******************, who agreed I was owed money back and would take care of it. Still nothing has been done. I've called their office every other week since July, I've followed up with my insurance when their office said the paperwork had been resubmitted to find out they hadn't done so. Their billing department needs to be audited as it seems they are defrauding their clientele.

Owner's Billing Practices: The owner of this practice appears to have some highly questionable billing practices. One of the most concerning aspects is the pre-authorization of charges on my debit card before even attempting to go through insurance. This approach is both unusual and unsettling, as it leaves patients feeling financially vulnerable.Furthermore, even after leaving the practice, I've continued to receive unexpected and unexplained charges. It's disheartening to see that this pattern of over-billing doesn't stop when you walk out the door.Unexplained Charges: Just recently, I received yet another mysterious $39.00 charge from this office, AFTER telling them that we do not authorize them to debit ANYTHING from our card, EVER. It's incredibly frustrating to be billed without any clarity or transparency regarding the services rendered. This lack of accountability only adds to the suspicion that something is amiss with their billing practices. These practices are, at best, questionable and, at worst, potentially unethical or even illegal. The lack of transparency and the consistent pattern of unexpected charges make it difficult to trust this practice. It's unfortunate that such a vital aspect of patient care is overshadowed by these billing issues.

In February of 2023, I had my initial consult with my new primary care provider, ****************** FNP. She is a family nurse practitioner who works within the same building as Wilmington Mental Health. This was just an initial consult to establish a new provider after moving to Wilmington, **. There were no diagnostic procedures conducted during this exam, however, ****************** FNP misdiagnosed me with cardiac arrhythmia. Not only did she misdiagnose me, but without conducting any definitive diagnostic testing (EKG, lab work, stress test, etc.) what she did is insurance fraud. I reported this to my health care provider, United Health, they agreed this was insurance fraud and reported it to their department. Due to this misdiagnosis, my current application for life insurance has been put on hold and has been delayed for over a month. I contacted the office manager, Miss April on 4/27/23 making her aware of the situation. She advised that she would speak to ******, have the misdiagnosis removed, and release my medical records to the insurance company for review. Since 4/27/23, I have called April with the same request on 5/1/23, 5/3/23, and 5/5/23. She has never returned my call as promised and still has not resolved my issue. They are delaying my process for being approved for life insurance, and have still not resolved the misdiagnosis that they have admitted to, that remains in my record. I would like BBB to assist me with having my misdiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia removed from my record, and to have my medical records released to Transamerica for review on my pending life insurance policy. I would also like a call from April, the office manager apologizing for this completely unprofessional delay and confirm that the misdiagnosis was removed from my record and that they have been successfully released as I have requested several times from her. This has been a negligent delay in health care and clear violation of moral and ethical practices.
