My position is Account Manager.
We are contracted by Duke Energy to provide services for their customer that have contracts with Duke Energy.
Their customers have different levels of contracts. Some have a $1,000.00 amount to apply to the work done (which in this case was a new water heater and insulation). Customers are ALWAYS told what coverage they have and what additional cost are not covered by Duke leaving a balance- in which the customers are responsible for payment of any unpaid balance not covered by Duke.
Our water heater price including - draining, removing of old water heater, disposing of old water heater, installing new water heater and filling new water heater and testing to make sure it is working properly. The price is $1,595.00 this is a natural gas water heater. This is a fair price for a 40 Gallon Gas Water Heater. My Technician was there for 2 ½ hours.
I talked with Mr. ***** and he said he was never told that there was a balance. I believe this to be untrue. Some Duke Energy customers assume that their contract will cover the entire amount. If Mr. ***** would have had the $2000.00 service contract with Duke (that they offer) then it would have been covered in full.
I also told Mr. ***** that I would reach Duke Energy to see if they would help him out on his balance.
