This company seem to make new rules daily. I always prepay for my gas even though I had an open account. I was NOT on auto-fill and I ordered as needed. In February 2022, they delivered 120 gallons which were authorized. Before the last delivery, I told them I was going to use the rest of the gas out of the tank because I had chosen another company. One of the main reasons for that is not being able to get gas on time during the winter even though it was prepaid. Several people in my area were out of gas during that time. One person was out of gas for over a week. When I called for pickup, they said my restocking fee would be $125. After they got the tank, they said the restocking fee was $250 and that was because I didn't use all of the gas out of the tank. They said I had 45% left in the tank and I have pictures that I had 55%. When I sent the picture to Jamie, the manager, he responded he couldn't tell whether the tank was level or not and the "guys" said it was set aside when they came to get it. He again was insinuating it was my word against theirs. I was charged a $250 restocking fee even though they made an error by delivering unauthorized gas. How could the other company put their tank there if the Diversified Energy was in that spot? I already love my new company and get a lot better and honest service!Review from Harry M

We cancelled our account and they picked up their tank which still had approximately 40% of paid for gas in it. They charged us $150.00 to pick up their tank. My complaint is it's their tank and my gas. I should have been refunded for the gas I paid for and they should not have charged us to pick up their tank. Very poor business practice. BTW ... I was informed of this today! :)

Sharp Energy dba Diversified Energy billed out the annual Usage Fee of $99.00 on 5/31/22 as has been done since 2006. The fee is billed in arrears and is only charged if the customer does not use at least one full tank of gas in the 12-month period. The customer has paid this fee several times in the past. In 2008 the usage fee was changed to an annual tank lease that is billed regardless of gallons used. The customer had us pick up the tank as they told us they were no longer going to use the propane. The 120-gallon tank that was picked up from the customers house was at 35% (containing 42 gallons). We credited the customer for the 42 gallons at the last price paid for gas. The credit for the gas equaled $159.14. The usage fee total was $105.68 the customer was charged a restock fee of $60.14. The typical restock fee is $150.00 plus tax. Therefore, the customers gas paid for the outstanding balance on the account and the labor for the pump out fee was discounted rather than have an outstanding balance on the account. Out contract clearly states, "Termination of service is subject to Pump out/Removal fees then in effect".
We are sorry that you will no longer be using propane however we followed all terms set forth in the contract.
