I recently paid off a loan early on a Subaru from Beardmore Chevrolet Subaru. When I did, the lender, *******************, advised me I have a Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) policy attached to it. This policy cost us $***. ****** advised me to contact Beardmore, cancel the policy and receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion. I called them 4 times last week and left messages, asking for a return call because no one was ever available to talk to me about it. No one has called.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/21) */ I spoke with Howard on 9/21/22 @ 6:35pm. Apologized for the lack of communication on our part and told him that we would need him to stop in the dealership to sign a cancellation letter. He said he would be willing to do so as long as he was feeling ok. Once that is done we will process his refund. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/09/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

In June of 2021 I visited Beardmore Chevy and Subaru to look at at *************** after paying my other vehicle off. I was greeted by Rick ******** who was selling this car. We sat down and discussed everything and I was told I could test drive the vehicle which I had done so. While driving I noticed a noise coming from the driver side front wheel and thought that was odd but asked Rick about it anyways and he proceeded to tell me it was a normal sound and their service techs did all necessary repairs to the vehicle and everything that needed replaced was done. When I asked Rick if I could take the car to my own mechanic he told me no and that if I did not buy today then I couldn't have it. ********************************************** all I had requested was a reliable and SAFE vehicle for myself and my children. Rick promised this vehicle was and that he would put his own daughter in this vehicle. I ended up purchasing the vehicle for almost $****** due to these empty promises. The noise that I originally asked Rick about started to become more pronounced and I ended up paying almost $*** for ***** to look at it for them to tell me the transmission has been bad for some time and not only that but the Engine was knocking. My mom has worked in the car business for over 35 years and contacted Beardmore about this issue and Royce the general manager agreed to meet with us about everything but wanted me to bring my car in to confirm that the transmission and engine needed replaced which the service techs at Beardmore did confirm. I was called by a lady in the service department that said that she spoke to Royce and his exact words were "have her come see me on Monday and I will trade her out of her vehicle to make things right" On Monday December 20th my mom and I had gone to Beardmore and Royce offered me $**** to take my car and then I would have to pay off the rest which is not ok. They said I signed an "as is" form but it looks like it was forged.

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/01/24) */ To address the customer's claim that we would not allow her to take the vehicle to her own mechanic, We actually have a window sticker on every bargain corner vehicle that states exactly that. "Beardmore encourages customers to take bargain corner units to their own mechanic before final sale is completed." We also have every guest sign the actual inspection showing them the things that we inspected. We also have them sign a form that again states "Beardmore encourages customers to take bargain corner units to their own mechanic before final sale is completed." We have provided that form to Ms. **** with her signature on it. She is claiming that the signature on that form looks forged, but after reviewing all the other forms she signed, we believe it to be a match. When the vehicle in question was purchased from us on June 19th 2021, the vehicle had 112550 miles, when it was brought to our shop on 12/18/2021 it had 122771 miles. So almost 6 months and 10221 more miles than when we originally sold her the vehicle. We made multiple offers to try to help rectify the situation. We first offered to pay $**** towards fixing the engine. We then offered to purchase the vehicle back for $****. Both offers were declined and we were told that they were going to get a hand writing expert to review the signed documents. This is the first we have heard from them since then. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/01/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Rick ******** is the person who told me I couldn't take it to my own mechanic otherwise I would've. His exact words "no, you can't take it to your own mechanic if you don't get it now you won't be able to get it at all" as far as the form that I supposedly signed if you look at all of the other forms I signed the * on my signature is way different than all of the others and I don't write my name like that. I was never offered "****" as you claimed. I was offered the $**** but that would've put me out of a vehicle and owing way more than I should've. Royce was also quick to tell me I wouldn't be able to afford any of the vehicles I was interested in which was ********* and **************. If you guys are willing to give me $**** like you claimed since the issues I'm having cost way more than that it will still help towards it. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/01/31) */ It is certainly not our intent to have an unhappy customer. The offer for the $**** was discounting the service bill from $**** to $****. We are still willing to honor that whether or not you do the work here or somewhere else. You can either have us repair the vehicle for the $**** or we will cut you a check for $**** as a sign of good will. I am more than happy to discuss this with you at any time. Brian ***** GSM ************. Consumer Response /* (2000, 16, 2022/02/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) The work is already being done by another dealership. If you could send a check I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your fast response.
