On Saturday October 21, 2023 James with Mesker Construction stopped by our house and said they will be down the road doing a driveway on Monday and since they will be in the neighborhood they could seal or fix our driveway for $2500 instead of the normal $3000. I specifically asked if it would fix the holes, cracks and where it’s bubbling up and he said yes they will fix everything and seal it and it’s all included. He said he reason it was doing it was because it needed to be sealed. I spoke with my husband and on Sunday the 22nd I text James we would go ahead and do it. Him and his crew came out Monday the 23rd and did the work. We stayed off the driveway until the 24th. It was shortly after we noticed that the cracks looked even worse than before and he fixed NOTHING! He made it worse! It looks like it’s crumbling! I don’t know what they did but this is terrible work! I’ve tried calling James numerous times and sent multiple texts. His phone goes straight to Voicemail and he will not respond to any texts or Facebook messages. I literally just text him asking him to please call me because I had a couple questions. He refuses to call or text me back. My husband and I have tried reaching him so many times and we hear nothing! He he did an extremely poor job and now he won’t even be man enough to stand behind his job! I’m afraid this is going to cost us a fortune to get fixed since they seem to have made a huge mess!! So frustrated! Why can’t businesses be honest and decent!Initial Complaint

In August of 2022, Mesker Construction asphalted my driveway over the current cement. Within a month, the asphalt began to crack in the driveway. Mesker was contacted on this. A person came out and attempted to repair the current cracking. They did a less than acceptable job on this. Since then, additional cracks and fissures have formed in the driveway. I have contacted Mesker many times, pertaining to this situation. The response was, that they would review this when they came to my town again for asphalt laying. This seemed reasonable. I kept calling to assure they would show up when they came back to Columbus, NE. I was finally contacted by one of the owners, **** ******* He came over to review the issue. He looked me in the eye, shook my hand and promised that they would repair the driveway within a week. This was 3 weeks ago. He will not respond to my messages.Customer response

Description: ********************************************************************** I decided to have my driveway paved with asphalt, as the cement currently in place held standing water, which resulted in ice during the winter. This was the only reason I paid for this service, which I conveyed to the crew and owner BEFORE the not as described service was performed. On October 21, 2021, the asphalt was poured and the job was completed the following day. The asphalt was still settling, I made the payment via check since I believed they had completed the job I outlined. It became clear the following days there was standing water areas. This is exactly what I was wanting to prevent by pouring the asphalt to begin with. Any ice and I will fall and an injury is likely because of my condition. I contacted the owner and he came out and looked at it and agreed it was not a good job as there were MORE pools for water than my original cement driveway. He had his crew come back out and attempt to fix this two times. They put more scraped divots (which you can see in the photos) and made things worse than before. They also said they sealed the asphalt; however, that doesn't really help because of all the holes. Resolution Sought: I'd like my driveway to be torn up and redone the right way without any standing water pools to prevent falls as agreed on prior to service. Alternatively, I'd like a full refund so I can have another company rectify the issue.
