We have an oil burning furnace that needed serviced. The manufacturing company gave us the number to this business to contact. We did not know their location. We called to set up service at which time they said they were going schedule us at a time when they were already going to be in the area which ended up being the next week. No service charges were disclosed at the time although we assumed there would be some type of charge to come out along with diagnosing and parts, etc. Needless to say we were shocked to receive a bill for a total of $1032.38 of which over $600 was a service call. When we inquired about the cost, we were then told they charge a $2.50 per mile round trip charge. This is not listed on their website nor was it disclosed at the time of the call. Had we known, we would have declined having them come. We asked for the owner to call us to discuss, which never happened. We know of at least one other service call they had in the area so we paid all asked charges but cut the mileage charge in half and included a letter explaining and again asking for them to call us which did not happen. We just received a new statement with a new past due amount listed which we are disputing paying. We ended up calling them and were told they do not have to disclose anything to us.

We provided service to this customer on 4/25/24-in Bellevue NE-we are located in Hastings NE-customer did NOT inquire at the time of service request where we were located-OR-what we charge for our services only that his heater needed worked on and to get there as soon as we could. Customer is extremely rude and unprofessional and is now stating that we have NOT been up front and honest-this is NOT the case. This customer has contacted our office on at least 6 occasions by phone-twice by email-and sent a letter stating that they are NOT paying the bill. Customer was told all fees and costs by email & by phone on several occasions. Customer is upset that they DID NOT INQUIRE ON COSTS at the time they REQUESTED us to service their heater. We have been in business for over 25 years and have NEVER encountered an ADULT to contiunually call & SCREAM & BERADE ourselves as the owners and our office manager over the cost of services. We will NEVER do business with this customer again. We are a small business and have to charge accordingly for our services especially if they are over 360 miles away round trip. This customer was given a 20% discount and feels that is just NOT ENOUGH-our customers do not get to dictate what we charge for services that we provide-our economy drives our prices and they are based on costs that we have to pay in order to stay in business like COST OF DIESEL WORK TRUCK-REPAIRS ON DIESEL WORK TRUCK-INSURANCE ON DIESEL WORK TRUCK-EMPLOYEE LIABILITY INSURANCE-COST OF EMPLOYEE & ALL OF THEIR BENEFITS-INCREASED COST ON ALL BUSINESS INSURANCE AND LIABILITIES-ALL BILLS ASSOCIATED WITH RUNNING A SMALL BUSINESS. In our opinion this customer is upset that he required our services and cannot pay his bills, this is at no fault of ours.

I am rejecting this response because: No collection letter was received.  Yes, please close this!  No desire to do business with them in the future. The communication of choice for them was to not respond to customer inquiries. Not worth my time or energy to further discuss the issue.  Glad we could pay $1200 for a repair that was not completed.

      Sincerely,
