I started renting from East Lawn in October of 2021. In August 2022, I received an eviction notice for nonpayment of rent and a court date. I got ahold of the landlord and presented proof of payment for 2 out of the 3 months they said I didn't pay. The months were June, July & August 2022. East Lawn lost my electronic payments and never contacted me once during that 3-4 month time frame to ask about the payments, they just filed with the court. They locked my online account and said I had to pay by money order and cash, I refused because I didn't want them losing those payments(This was for August payment.) I am aware that I was behind on waste/water payments and pet rent. I applied for help from the state and East Lawn refused to accept it. I spoke with the local Community Action Partnership about this situation and they ********* **** **** ***** ********** *** have helped people who were in East Lawn. When the court date came I was not able to make it as my children and I were sick. I let the landlord and the landlords lawyer know I would not be present at the court hearing. At that time I was not aware I had to reach out to the courts to reschedule. They then filed a default judgement. I went to court on 1 Mar 2023 in regards to the default judgement. I was told by lawyers to present my evidence then. I tried to present my evidence and the judge denied it. I am still being charged by default judgement for payments I had already made. The motion to Set Aside Default Judgement and a New Trial were denied. **** ******** *** ********** ** **** ***** ***** ***** I feel I was wrongly evicted and wasn't able to represent and present evidence. The front desk associate, Kristie *****, is **** **** and ********* to the tenants. She refused to work with me and reach out about the nonpayment of rent, I was accused of not paying. I have lost my jobs, housing, more time with my kids due to their mistake and recklessness. We are having many problems with the manager she screams and yells at my daughter first. For absolutely no reason for simply asking a question to her she screams and uses obscenities in the office second every month we try to get a receipt from her that my daughter pays her lot rent because she owns her trailer the lady refuses to give receipt she says there are 300 trailers there what am I supposed to do give everybody a receipt and then every other month they try and do charge my daughter late fees and says that she's not paying her lot rent on time so we go to the bank and show proof and I called the lady and I tell her this would not happen if she was to give a receipt and the lady in the office screams and yells at me and repeats I do not give receipts I don't have to but she wants to take people to court and take their trailers away because people don't always keep their receipts we are lucky that we get are received through the bank you can prove our end my complaint is a company with exchange of money to give receipts and and the lady in the office that's the manager should not be yelling at people that live there and calling names and cussing very improper for handling a business
