Provider came in July 2022 to look at electrical work & collected an advance of $**** before disappearing. He has ignored repeated phone calls and e-mails. He did no work whatsoever but took $****! The money was paid to him half in cash and half via ******. As I am not in ******** at the moment, the best way to reach me is via e-mail. Thank you.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/23) */ I disagree with the amount - I received $****** after fees. I advised prior to driving to *************** there was a non-refundable deposit for me to come out, assess the situation and provide a quote and the customer agreed. The services provided include driving to ********************* from ************** to assess the commercial school house building. I reviewed a list of red tag items from the county inspector. I contacted the county inspector over the phone to see what he wanted to restore permanent power back to the building. It was unsafe to occupy and had been abandoned for a long time. The inspector advised me his requirements and I relayed the information to the point of contact his Son who has handling the transaction because the Father is in *******. His son agreed to a ***$ non-refundable deposit for the services rendered and fulfilled the transaction. A quote was provided to the son on the day of the transaction. The son told me to proceed with the work. Then the father called me and he requested a repair plan that did not meet the inspector's requirements. I then called the inspector again to verify if the modifications would fly. The inspector declined. The father insisted he would call the inspector and advise me on his behalf. I went back and forth between the father and the inspector several times. The inspector advised I was the 4th electrician to contact him on the building. I drove to the county assessor to get the paperwork for the permit filing. I started researching manufactures and searching for parts needed to restore the over 100-year-old building. This type of job takes planning and strategy because of the complexity and the distance from town. After extensive leg work on my side, the father stated he no longer wanted to proceed with the repairs and requested a refund. I had several phone conversations with the father and son advising the funds were non-refundable and were charged for the time invested and work provided. He disputed the $*** payment with ****** and after their assessment his claim was denied. ****** deducted a $***** fee. I was clear and upfront with the customer about the cost of the services for this type of transaction. I have approximately 12-15 hours invested in this transaction. My rate is $*** per hour. I am sorry that things did not work out and the customer is dissatisfied. I was upfront with my terms from the beginning but I am unable to provide a refund.
