Signed a contract with ****** ******* with Sanchez Painting LLC, DBA Sanchez Contracting on 08/04/2023 to do scraping and painting of soffits, facia and four sides of a farmhouse west of Elgin, NE. for a total of $5,700. He required a deposit of $2850 at time of contract signing. Per contract he was to start work on 09/15/2023. He did not start on said date due to his power washer being fixed. He informed us he would start following Monday 09/22/2023. He did not start as he stated. He claimed that he still had a power washer problem and would begin work the following week, in which he did not. He never showed back up. Calls and text messages went unanswered. Requested that he provide an update and he wouldn't get back to me. I called again on 11/04/23 and he called me back. He said he had personal problems and would complete the work in the spring for a discounted rate. I asked for my down payment back, he agreed and would call his bank and develop a payment plan for me and call back in one week. In which he did not. I made it clear that he was to call back and he agreed. He has yet to return calls or text messages. I called his former apartment owner and he owes him money as well. Sanchez Painting LLC has been dissolved and he is working two contracting jobs under Sanchez Contracting LLC. We heard he was working at Blattner, yet to be verified. The day of signing I called 3 references that were very positive. Since then he has done this to at least one other person.
