This is a formal letter I sent to company on 1/10/22. He called but never followed through again with promises made. I am writing this letter as a formal complaint for the services that I didn't received at your company. Back in January 2021 I met with Tony regarding getting help with our 2020 tax filings and to find out why we had not received our 2019 federal refund. We paid $*** and did not receive any help on getting the 19 refund. We ended up personally reaching out to a tax advocate and our state senator's office to obtain. Back in late summer I spoke to Tony again regarding not receiving our 2020 Federal refund thinking the 2019 refund had something to do with not getting the 2020. At that point he refiled the taxes electronically instead of researching. I again made a call to Tony letting him know we still have not received anything and then when I checked the IRS website they still have no record of receiving the taxes. This is when he told me they had to mail it so I am not sure when it actually was mailed. He couldn't tell me a date. As of today's date the IRS still shows no record on their website of receiving the tax return. I do understand that the IRS had been behind all of last year. With that being said Tony said I'll be emailing you over some thing to sign and I'll get down to work on this and find out what happened, that he has many contacts at the IRS. That was the end of October and today is January 10 and I still have never received a call or any documentation from Tony. I hope you can understand my frustration, as no follow up work seems to be done for us and we are going on one year since I originally came to your office. We paid money and never got the services. My goal is to get this resolved and find out what happened.

      Business response

      03/02/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/02/28) */ We completed a 2020 tax return for Andrea ******* and dealt with Julie ******* as she was in care of the return. The return was attempted to be filed 02/09/2021 and came back rejected. Following this I attempted to refile the return and eventually received a rejection notice that the primary taxpayer was deceased and that the return would need to be paper filed. Julie emailed me on 03/30/21 and I responded on 04/07/21 updating her on the status. Julie emailed again on 04/26/21 and I responded on 04/29/21 to her inquiry. Julie emailed on 05/19/21 for an update and I responded on 05/20/21 informing her that I had spoken with an IRS agent and that they were currently in the process of reviewing the tax return and there was no further update. Julie emailed on 06/16/21 and I responded on 06/17/21 again informing her that there was no update per IRS yet. Julie again emailed on 07/06/21 and I responded on 07/06/21 informing there was still no update per IRS guidance. Julie emailed on 07/22/21, 08/08/21, 11/01/21, 12/02/21. I responded on 01/14/22 as her email bombardments were becoming overbearing during times we are busy filing quarterlies and tax returns for individuals with extensions. I am only the tax preparer and cannot in any form expedite the way IRS processes tax returns. In 2021 tax return filings for tax year 2020 were especially delayed as there was understaffing with IRS staff and a significantly higher volume of tax returns that needed to be processed as many individuals filed tax returns to claim stimulus monies not received during the year. Tax returns that are paper filed were taking even longer to process. On 01/14/22 I spoke with an IRS agent and was informed that the refund for 2019 was sent out and I corresponded this to Julie and she confirmed on 01/14/22. Julie emailed on 02/04/22 for an update on the 2020 refund and I responded on 02/08/22 after speaking with an IRS agent and was informed there is no update yet. I noted to Julie that the IRS agent said the return had been received for processing and assigned to an agent however it was not currently being processed at the time. After this last correspondence Julie proceeded to make a formal complaint. So in summary I have responded to Julie's inquiries with promptness and made numerous calls to the IRS on her behalf for updates. These calls to IRS would take over 2 hours per call as the wait times to speak with an agent were extremely high in 2021. I have went above and beyond to attempt to resolve her case and get her refund issue but the problem falls upon the ability of the IRS to process her return and that is out of my control. Cordially, Anthony ******** EA Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/03/01) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am glad to have in writing what was actually done. I asked several times for dates he e filed or mailed it but didn't get a response. I was only told in Oct they never received it. Since he states the IRS has it i accept this. I have no other choice. I am not able to verify this on ***********************. As they show no receipt of it.
