I worked within this agency for 7 months as a media buyer which takes many months to learn and get down the basics. I was brought into the office of the agency owner and (to paraphrase) was told she had negative feedback about me, that I didn’t “fit in” and that it just wasn’t working out, but that she would give me 10 days to improve and see how it goes. After I reached out to a couple people I work with directly about what I needed to improve on, I found out that not only did my bosses daughter not like me but that she supposedly vented and complained about me to her mom that then went and asked my coworkers ONLY for negative feedback about me and they said not to fire me because I was still learning the trade and media buying takes time. Also, I was never given a 90 day performance review as the agency doesn’t even have an HR department. My boss then called me in 1 week later and said I wasn’t improving at all and that I was done. She refused to pay out my unused PTO (which was 52 hours) and claimed that it was a glitch in QuickBooks because I shouldn’t have had hours…. Then I later asked for a formal termination letter and She refused to give me one of those as well. Nepotism is love and well not just in Hollywood but in good ol Omaha, Nebraska too. So I’d highly recommend never working for them or be in business with them as they mix family and workplace practices.
