Yesterday morning our garage door would not open. I left for work and my wife is at home getting the kids ready for school. The tech, **** came over and said it would be $300 for parts and $300 for labor. The work was done and the receipt said 2 torsion springs $299 2x, which equaled $600. Any local wholesaler and every garage company I called charges around $80 - $130 max for 1 spring. My wife said that seems very expensive and **** said, the prices of steel have increased due to Covid and that is what they cost. They took advantage of my wife because she was in a hurry, charging us $725 for a job that would conservatively cost $350-$400. I called the tech and he brushed it off saying, well she agreed to it and didn't ask for a discount. I called the main office and talked to **** and I requested to speak with the manager/owner. I let him know those springs do not cost $299 a piece and would like the $299 they stole from us. He took some notes and said to call back when I got off work (I couldn't wait too long because work) I called at 4:30pm and **** stated he called around town and the springs do cost $299 right now. So I asked him, what is the part number and wholesaler and I'll do my own research. He didn't know. So I asked what places he called around town (so I could call too) and he got upset and said, "I AM NOT LYING". I know very well he didn't call anyone due to defensiveness. Also would not let me speak with the owner and got very rude. This is a predatory/scam of a company with 100s of fake google reviews. I just hope no one else falls victim to to this company again.

On the night of September 12th, my garage door would not close because the top panel was broke.I called an after hours garage door places for prices & looked up one on BBB it was an A+, when Garage Doors of Omaha came out, Paul the service tech had me write a check for $600 out of the $1200.00 quote for fixing it, knowing I would order the door panel myself.Paul tried to up sell me a whole new Garage door for $4500, I said, I could order it from ******** where I got it.Then since he couldn't do anything until I received the right panel to put on.When I received the new panel on October 23rd from ********, they scheduled me for October 24th between 8am to 10am, Paul texted me at 8:02pm saying he is on his way. When he showed up, he took the top panel down, then found out ******** order me the wrong panel.Paul said he could just put the Strut on the old door & re install it so, I can manually open & close the door until I got the right one.I then had to write him another check for $400 & would not leave until he got it.Paul said that when the right size comes in just call him & he will put it up for me.I asked him is that going to cost me anymore? He said no, just call & make in appointment, I will come out & put it up for you.The whole thing is, he hardly did any work & I ordered and paid for the parts.I texted the company to send me an itemized billing statement on 10-24-2023 at 1:01pm saying"Can you please email me a breakdown itemized billing of cost/labor of everything you've done for the $1000 that I have paid?,Thank you.", Then at 1:03pm that day he texted me "Hi ****, Just sent it again. we not checking this mailbox, if you willing to get a hold of us. you can give us a call. as the text message mention, for any issued please give us a call. we not monitor this mailbox." The email search came up as Atlantis Garage Doors & other names they are going by are Garage Doors of Nebraska & Garage Doors of Omaha.

we find this price and quote very reasonable, the job came up at 11pm at night, and the tech spend a few hours there.

Mr ****** forget to mention that at the first night we closed and secured his door, and thats included another 2 visits.

im sorry that mr ******* order himself the wrong part, but we have nothing to do it.

emergency work after hours are not in the same as during the day. and Mr ****** was aware to $229 trip fee.

we offer Mr ****** to come first thing in morning and he refused and say that his door need to be secured.

all our phone calls are recorded and work trucks having a GPS and camera and we will provide it.

Mr ******* Keep texting to our number, we inform him multiple times that number is for just automatic reminders. instead of calling he keep text even after we inform him multiple times that we not monitoring this inbox and its for outgoing messages only.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I have 8 cameras around my pole barn, which records when they showed up and when they left. So it will take some time, and I will put the videos together and send them off.  They are not telling the truth, and the only thing I should pay for is the emergency call, also I bought the parts myself, was not my fault about having the wrong door. Everyone I talked to said NEVER PAY UP FRONT because the collect when the job is done, they have done this with other people just read the reviews.

      Sincerely,

      **** *******

as you just mention, you bought the part yourself, and got the wrong parts.

which that required extra trips and labor.

we never had any communication with you during the repair, calls and schedule was thru your mom, she schedule the work and agreed for the fee's for coming in the middle of the night.

all our phone calls are recorded and can be provided.

Business said they'd come out 8-10 to fix garage door opener. No show. Then guy very apologetic, said they'd be out between 1:30-3. Nothing. Now the call keeps failing at both ******* and ***** numbers. It's like my call is blocked, but I was very polite. Garage door opener ************ was $***. I also got a new garage door two years ago and have had nothing but trouble; they have had to come out every few months to fix when it doesn't close properly. Garage door was $*****.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/11) */ Its been resolved. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Shay came out the next morning. He explained absence, and I forgave (although they sure should have called and not left me hanging). Shay seemed to fix door, but then I went out at noon and garage wouldn't close. Both business and I extremely frustrated -- most times door won't close final two inches. Even after pulling cord to close manually it gets stuck at last two inches. Shay seemed to think install was OK when door new on 8/31/19, but seeing as how both Garage Doors of Nebraska and I have been frustrated at it not working every few months since it was new I have come to the conclusion that door was warped/faulty somehow in a way I can't see from the beginning. I think we'll need to do warranty replacement of door (I know that 2 years after labor not covered and I'd have to pay labor on replacement).
