In November 2021, I hired Pilar (Ron and Jerry) to install an electric fireplace in my bedroom. The job took two days. They left a big mess the first day and did not clean up after themselves. I started cleaning things up and they said to leave it and we will take take of it tomorrow (second day). The installation went well. The same day they finished the work I was emailed and text by Ron (Manager) asking me to pay the other half of the bill. I was shocked because they had just finished the work - same day. I told him that I had the invoice in my email and that I would take care of it over the weekend. He asked me to pay it before noon, because they were a small businesses and needed the money. This was a work day for me by the way. I didn't use the fireplace for a couple of weeks. I noticed in January 2022 that the wood they used had cracked underneath, all the way across. I contacted them and sent a picture over. Jerry came a few days later to mud the wood. He stated that the work they did for me was a rush job and normally he would have come back after 48 hours to re-mud three or four times, but they didn't do that. I couldn't believe what he said, so I paid a significant amount of money and did not get the service I paid for. We still had to re-mud again because we could still see the crack. I am disappointed in the service I received and being hassled to pay an invoice the same day the work was done.

This surely is not what Pilar holds itself to when it comes to the quality of our work. Pride in our workmanship & customer satisfaction is paramount in our company creed. We would be more than happy to come out again to resolve any issues you may be experiencing. The wood frame itself is not cracking but rather the mudded layer over the drywall had fractured. This is a common occurrence when there is a fluctuation in temperature and we insured that the fireplace & heater was functioning properly before leaving the job site. We are sorry if there was an issue with any mess leftover as we always clean the job site thoroughly after installation is finished. We were coming back to mud the next day so we left a plastic sheet on the floor so carpet wouldn't get dirty. We are also sorry to hear that you feel there was a billing discrepancy. As stated on the original invoice : half payment is required prior to work started & the remaining balance to be paid immediately after the project ended (upon completion). Non the less it pains us that you were less than pleased with our work. As I stated before we will gladly come back out to rectify any reasonable issues to your satisfaction.
