************ I ordered products ************************* in September of 2021. When browsing my bank account in March of 2022, I noticed a strange debit from OTC Fun Rewards for *****. When I ******* the company, I found it was Oriental Trade and knew I had made no recent purchases. Once I looked back at previous statement, I found that they had been charging me monthly. I called the company and had this cancelled immediately. When I questioned the rep she simply stated that an email was sent to explain. I informed her that I did not recall receiving any such email.Business response

Fun Rewards+ is a rewards program where, upon signing up, customers receive **% cash back while shopping Oriental Trading brands and *% back at 1,500+ other marketplaces. To join, customers agree to the program at the end of their order and must verify signup by typing in their email and accepting the charges. An email welcoming the consumer to the Fun Rewards+ program was sent on 9/27/21 after signing up for the program. A second email was sent to the consumer 21 days later to remind that the program's 30 day free trial would be ending soon.Initial Complaint

I ordered a large order on Sept 7, 2021. I had a code for free shipping. That code without my knowledge signed me up for their fun rewards. I never got an info explaining my membership or my confirmation into fun rewards. Instead, I was just billed ***** every month since. When we noticed the unknown charge and called them. They flat out told me by accepting free shipping for that one order, i enrolled into their fun rewards and they started their charges. I have canceled my membership, but I was still charged for 5 months. I have made no orders since that one order. And because it showed up as fun rewards and not oriental trading company, it took us a while to determine the source of the charge.Business response

The program subscription was cancelled on 2/10/22 by request. After review of this BBB complaint refund request, a refund of $***** was issued 2/14/22 to the customer. The customer's free shipping promotional code would not have signed them up automatically for the program. To join the Fun Rewards+ program, customers agree to the program at the end of their order and must verify signup by typing in their email and accepting the charges. Customers receive an email with information about the subscription and the program after signing up and receive an email 21 days prior to the trial period ending and charges beginning. I keep receiving emails stating I order pounds of candy. The person is using my name, email, and old address. I've never heard of this company until last week when I received an email. Today, I received a different email order. I've reached out on both occasions. The company says they've cancelled the orders. The cards that's being used, I don't even own. I want to file a report with BBB so the company knows I'm not the one making these orders, and I want them to find out who is.Business response

All orders were canceled and reported to our accounting department to investigate the payment ownership. The consumer's credit card was not used, only the email address. We also placed the consumer's email address on our opt out list so they do not receive any future marketing emails.Initial Complaint

My order was order # ********* and was delivered to its destination on December 09, 2021 07:31 My tracking number was: ****************** When my candy canes arrived (************************************), they all arrived cracked and broken. We were unable to give these candy canes to our students in their Holiday goodie bags. We were extremely upset by this package delivery. Breakable items should have been placed in packing peanuts or wrapped tightly, not placed in a big box with other non-breakable items. We are asking for a full refund for the candy canes. I recently paid off my ******** card and THAT bears noting since it brought to light a single charge for $***** on my ******** card from OTC. I used to charge a ton of things to my ******** card so I hadn't noticed this $***** charge since August! it just got lost in the mix of other charges (my fault, I know.) THIS one stuck out though since it was the ONLY charge on my newly zero balance account. So I called ******** and they said it was an Oriental Trading recurring charge for membership. MEMBERSHIP? I had NO idea what that was about. The last thing I purchased from OTC was some bulletin board paper for my daughter back in August 2021 and ever since then I guess they've been charging my card this "membership fee"! Mind you I paid the ****** something bucks for the poster paper all in one credit card charge and thought that was the end of it. So ******** told me to call OTC to see if I could resolve it with them. NOT ONLY did OTC not know who I was after I gave them my address, ph number, email address, but when I gave them the credit card info that they have been charging $***** every month to, they couldn't recognize that either! I told her it was strange that nothing comes up with my email since I get ad emails from them every day! PLUS I did order from them back in August -- you would think they'd have record of me that way. UNBELIEVABLE. SO ******** said they'd work on getting these charges reversed but meanwhile OTC is getting away with some kind of SCAM - a membership fee? I will never buy from them again.Business response

To join, a customer must verify by typing in their email and accepting the charges. The program will have to be cancelled and refunded through Fun Rewards at **************. The customer was called on December 6, 2021 with these details. The customer hung up the call. I bought fairy wings for halloween a month ago and they still haven't came and I called someone to ask about it and all they did was give me attitude. I want a refund because I never recieved my order but the person was making it seem as if I lied even though I gave them all the right informationBusiness response
