I received a call from a collection agency that was hired by radiology consultants requesting that I pay a bill that I was completely unaware of. I watch my billing statements like a hawk for the one and only health system that I utilize for my healthcare needs. All of the care that I have ever received at said health system has always been billed through their one and only comprehensive online portal billing system. Turns out, I received an Xray that had been sent to and interpreted by radiology consultants and was not informed that there would be separate billing. Needless to say, I was surprised to receive this call. The collection agency representative was not kind and immediately accusatory and demanding. Not kind in answering my questions. I asked why I was not notified through other methods before my account was transferred to collections. I had not received a single phone call, email, voicemail, letter. The representative informed me that they only bill through one method: paper statements by mail. Well guess what. I am a student and I have moved 3 times in the last year. This is negligent, disrespectful, and poor customer service. Not the way to run a business.
