    The only elevator in the apartment building we live in has been broken for over 3 months now and my disabled mother has been trapped upstairs the entire time without access to health care, food, laundry, trash removal, etc. The elevator has been broken since 12/27/2023 and we notified them by email as of 1/2/2024 when we were notified they took over managing our property. We told them my mom is disabled and that she needs to be able to get to her medical appointments ASAP. This management company has wasted time and I honestly think they just want her to die so they can rent the place to someone else. There is no reason why it should take 3 months to fix an elevator. They have continued to make excuse after excuse, but after speaking with an expert on the Elevator Safety Board they could not comprehend why the elevator is still broken. They have not offered any accommodations and have denied every option we have presented, including a deduction in rent. This company is holding my mom hostage and no one cares. I have reported this to the city, county, and state but nothing has worked. The only thing I have not done is criticize them directly on social media since I do not want them to have reason to retaliate against me. There is one option I have not done because it would require me to leave after a certain number of days of the elevator not being fixed but I am not able to move. My mom just wants to be able to live her life instead of being held hostage in her apartment against her will. The management company does not care if she dies or gets hurt. I cannot afford a lawyer so this is my last option. ADA can't help because only a few people in the building are disabled and they only take on cases affecting many people.is the manager whose office is at Aberdeen Apts and I have never met anyone so rude and ableist in my entire life. If she is a reflection of the entire company then I hope this company ***** ** **** ***** ** ******** Just fix the elevator!

    My roommate and I rented in a citadel townhomes and apartments. Someone for maintenance came in while roommate was showering and did not tell us why they had gone or sent an email letting us know they’d be going in. Before moving in found that room was infested with roaches and let them know they needed to spray. They did but still didn’t help much. Also let them know that there was an issue with bees coming into our apartment room and DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. There was so many issues. The management is so rude and ask for money upfront and as soon as possible but never fixed the bee issue. My roommate had to ask her lawyer to get involved and asked for advice to see what we can do. It’s ridiculous that they never resolved issues and they have maintenance people come in and out of room with out even notifying us.

    Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We are sorry to hear your experience at Citadel Apartments didn’t meet your expectations. NP Dodge managed communities are to follow strict policies before entering an occupied unit. When we do not have advanced permission to enter by the resident, 24-hour notice is to be provided prior to our entry unless it is to address an emergency or life/safety hazard. Even then, the service technicians are to knock at the unit entry door and loudly announce their entry, to help prevent the situation you described. If you would like us to investigate the incident further, we would be happy to do so with more information. Upon review, I can confirm your unit underwent pest control treatments, including the removal of bees in October after the issue was reported. A third party, professional, pest control provider completed the necessary treatments and provided detailed notes indicating that they found one dead wasp in your apartment home, but no live or active pests were found. Since no additional concerns were reported, they did not schedule a follow-up inspection. The Citadel team attempted to be proactive in their communication with you regarding your delinquent rent in an effort to resolve the matter before it resulted in a formal eviction. I apologize if our team’s communication seemed harsh; their intention was to emphasize the urgency of the situation and ensure that you were aware of the importance of making the payment at the agreed upon time. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, and please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
