The contract with SEI was signed by my husband many years ago. Do not know how long. My husband died October 7, 2022. A few later, while I was dealing with all the complexities of his death, I signed the SEI contract without reading the 5 year commitment, which I recognize I did not read the small print. I called the company after a year I wanted to get out, which they denied. They are forcing me to abide with a security system I do not want. I am trying to fix the house for sale. I deal with workers coming in and out of the house and they do not want to deal with the security system neither do I. I want out of the contract I do not care for their services. I think it is non professional of a company forcing me to pay for services I do not want. After my husband's death I am a fixed income retired professor.

*** ******** contact us to sign an agreement in her name in October 2022 after the passing of former agreement holder ****** *******.  The representative sent her standard agreement (attached) and she signed agreement.

She contacted us to cancel in April 24, 2023 and did not offer any reason other than she did not want the services.  She was explained that she was in agreement until October 2027.  She did not like that and wanted a copy of said agreement. Agreement was sent to her same day. At that time she was advised if moving she would be released from the agreement.  She did not respond.

*** ******** contacted SEI Customer Service on May 6, 2024 to cancel, would not provide a reason other than to just cancel.  She was advised again regarding agreement. She asked for a manager to call her.  Manager tried call 3 times same day 05.06.2024, no answer and customer's voicemail is not set up.  An email was sent to **** ******** (attached) inquiring about request to cancel, and options to reduce fees, agreement was attached for her as well on that email. No response from *** ********.

SEI is happy to reduce fees, by reducing services to minimum services for her to complete her term of agreement as well as discontinue the service once she has sold home or moved from home and release from balance of agreement.   She has been given both these options when reaching out via phone as well as in email format.

*** ******** has contact me outside of the BBB with attached email.  It needs to be verified if her comment "Your accept your offer to bill me the least amount of service until I move from this house." means she accepts the offer to reduce her fees and services from $57/month to $37/month by removing the additional services of ******* *** as well as ******* ***** and maintaining her fire and intrusion monitoring until she moves or sells house.  Which she will need to advise me via email once that happens. If this is the resolve she has chosen I will await response via BBB or her approval through BBB not outside of her BBB complaint.

In Addition she shall retract letter to NE State Attorney and mark BBB complaint as resolved to satisfaction.
