On 10/10/2025 around 10:00 am I received a call from a neighbor concerned about people being on my roof. I left work immediately and arrived at home to find the shingles on the garage and home completed removed down to the wood. I talked to one of the roofers and he showed me a picture of my house and my address and said they were instructed to replace the roof. I told them we did not file a claim with our insurance, and they must have the wrong address as we were not replacing our roof. After many attempts of him trying to get the owner of the company on the phone he left to go to the owner's home. He returned with a different worker about 20 minutes later and informed me they did in fact have the wrong address. He indicated they would replace the roof immediately. I was completely distraught and called my husband to take off work and come home as soon as possible as it had just started to rain. After 3 hours the workers returned and completed putting new shingles on the garage and home.
Two days later the owner ****** ******) of Ironclad Construction came to our home and said he was going to file an insurance claim on our behalf to recover the loss of the shingle cost. My insurance agent called me immediately after they left her office to inform us they cannot file a claim to recover the loss from their error. I have made several attempts to contact the owner to obtain a "work order" that indicates the class and type of shingles they put on my roof as our insurance company is requesting it to update our homeowner's insurance policy. Both my husband and I have made several calls and sent text messages to *** ****** and have not received the information needed by our insurance company. My husband and I decided we would not try collect compensation for loss of wages for my husband having to take off work and/or fees for the inconvenience that they have cause. We just want the paperwork that shows what work they did.
