Last May in 2021 we ordered a home from Lifetime Homes. We put down a deposit and signed a purchase agreement for the amount we still owed. We were told to buy now and lock in our price cuz materials were going up. We were expecting our home in late fall early winter. Nothing. We asked for the final price again last November. We even drove to **** to make sure everything was still as we ordered if the upgrades were in the final cost delivery and set up fees and taxes...answers was yes. Ok. In February of 2022 we get an email with the plans ok to build. Not quite right so we call with the corrections. A few weeks later we get another email with the corrections, but this has a $********* surcharge on it. Plans still aren't right so we call and Ron is going to make changes and find out about surcharge. Five days later we get another email ok to build, but this has another $******* added surcharge making it $*********. We ask about our agreement we signed, apparently that was no good, because according to Ron the company was sold last November or whenever, but nobody said anything to us, and with the prices going up they just couldn't build the house for that. So we said give us the deposit back. Well about a week or so later Ron calls and says they made an error and came down on the price. Still about $********* over the original. So we decided to still have them build. So during all this my house could of sold, but I took it off the market because of their surcharges. Everything else we had planned for last fall has gone up in price. When we finally got the final ok to build it looked like it had another surcharge and that was the final straw. My boyfriend called Ron asked for his deposit back and was told "well you won't get it all back". He has yet to hear or receive anything. For everything we have gone through, the disappointment, the waiting for nothing. He better get the entire deposit back. I'm glad I still have my house!
