Zero stars! I've lost count about the number of phone calls I've tried to make to resolve this issue. I pay about $650 monthly for mediocre coverage. Since I've signed up, most of my in-network claims have been denied because Ambetter keeps insisting I have other insurance (which was cancelled in July of 2023). Every time I call, they keep passing the call around and it usually ends up disconnected. There is no email or alternative phone number to call on the website (just the phone number on the member card...I even asked the last time I called and the person I talked with said the same). I've had to call my old insurance, the marketplace and then back to Ambetter several times to tell them that everyone else says my insurance is definitely JUST Ambetter. I have several physicians I see and don't have time to deal with the doctors, bill collectors, insurance calls, etc. SO FRUSTRATING! On top of all of that, I use a continuous glucose monitor that is over $180 every month...that's one of several prescriptions I use that they barely cover. Absolutely ridiculous!Review from Diana L

I started having issues with Ambetter right around the re-enrollment period. I paid my premium on January 29th of 2024. The payment was processed on the 30th. It was due by the 1st of February. I thought I was all set. I go to my pharmacy to pick up my scripts & the pharmacist tells me my health insurance is cancelled. I go home, log into Ambetters web site & it says my insurance is suspended because I hadn't payed my premium. It also said I had a past due balance of $10,420.42. This was on 2/6. My monthly premium is $755.94. I call customer service & they had to do a payment tracer which takes anywhere from 7 -10 days. During the first 3 weeks of February, I had no coverage & all of my dr.s visits during that time period were kicked back. On 2/13 I called Ambetter again & my payment was finally posted. I had to call every dr.s office I had been to to resubmit all of the claims. On 2/16 I get an invoice with a credit balance of $46,165.13 ????? It gets worse. I needed foot surgery & also an ENT specialist. I had been seeing a podiatrist regarding my foot for about 3 months (in network) & I'm told I need surgery. I scheduled it that day. Over a week later I get a call from their office & they tell me that the OR my Dr uses is privately owned & there was a $2500.00 facility fee that I would have to pay out of pocket. I asked if he had privileges any where else & they said no. I told the receptionist that I should have been made aware of this the day I scheduled the surgery! Needless to say, I CX'ed the surgery. I look on Ambetter "in network" physicians list & start making calls to schedule an appt. None of the them take Ambetter & I was told each time to refer to my insurance company. I told them I had. It suddenly dawned on me that Ambetter never updated their physicians list so I made another call. The woman I spoke to confirmed this. Had I known all of this I would have never gone with Ambetter! The physicians that were available had horrible reviews to boot.Ambetter from New Hampshire Healthy Families Response

If I could give them ZERO STARS I WOULD! This is the worst customer service I've ever dealt with for starters. It's like they are reading off que cards for the answers to your questions because they literally repeat the exact thing when they don't answer the question you ask and you ask in a different way to get them to understand what you are saying. Second the auto pay plan they have is a joke! They kept returning my auto pay and then I had a balance and they were going to shut off my insurance if I didn't pay an astronomical amount because of an error on their end which they admitted to. And their response was well the payments haven't been taken out so you should have the money!!!!! Mind you this was 4 months worth! This is also why I set up auto pay so I didn't have to worry about it not getting paid! Then when my medication suddenly starred having a high copay no one could give me a reason and I was on hold for about 2 hrs when 5:00pm comes and that's their closing time the phone mysteriously got disconnected! STAY AWAY!!!Review from Matt H

Stay away from this company! On 2 separate occasions they canceled my autopay without telling me and then told me my payments were late. I'm also unable to even access their website because it tells me I am pending registration. Customer Service has been incompetent and unable to help with any of my problems. When I asked about the autopay they said they had no control over it, leaving me to wonder who does. Their solution was for me to just call up and pay my bill on the phone every month, instead of actually fixing the problem.Review from Mallory S

Worst company that I have ever encountered in my life. Completely incompetent. Cancelled my insurance with no warning after all payments were made. They have told me it would be in-instated and they have done nothing to solve it. I have spent over 20 hours on the phone getting transferred from one incompetent person to the next. This company is a giant scam. Stay FAR away!Review from Susan L

Horrible company. They screwed up my initial plan, then their auto pay did not work and customer service was useless in trying to find a solution.Review from Libby P

Ambetter NH owes me 712.00 for the Medical Loss Ratio provision tax law found in the United States healthcare mandate for insurance companies. They must use 80% of monies towards actual healthcare. If they do not, they are required to pay plan members this rebate. I called in Sept. to request a check sent for the rebate amount above. I moved and changed my address in the marketplace and on the Ambetter website. I waited until November and called again. They said my address was still wrong and they would reissue the check. No luck. I called again in December. Was told it was now in (since again the address was wrong) "escalation" and they would get the check out with tracking info asap. I called back for tracking info and was told that the escalation department did not exist. I asked to speak with a supervisor since this was my sixth call regarding this issue. She said no. And I pushed, explaining that i needed the money. She hung up on me. I called back and was told by someone new that there was an escalation process and the check would be sent to the correct address. One month later.... no check. I signed up for Anthem after the final call since they send these checks out automatically and have better selection of service providers. Truly a disappointment. Get the feeling they are going to keep the 712.00 anyway they can.Review from Jeannie S

They backdated requested coverage date and are unwilling to correct their mistake despite compliant filed by Marketplace. They continue to bill me for their mistake. Possibly fraudulent billing practice. I will report them to CMS.
