I hired Gavin to do the painting in my new construction home and to fix drywall issues from the drywallers messups, due to not following code, and this was the best work his guys could do. We're unhappy with the quality his workers were giving us and this is what it looks like after they went back and tried fixing everything three separate times. This is how it still looks. After telling Gavin his guys work were unacceptable he proceeded to tell me this is the best work that him and his company could give me and that he didn't know what else to do for me and we should just do it ourselves. They even scratched and scuffed our new floors and stair treads. We had in the contract to put paper down to protect the floors. They put down the thinnest poor quality stuff that they kept tearing. When we first told him this he said he would stop by and did not. At the end of the week, with no response, we told him it was unacceptable to ignore this. He stopped by and said he has a flooring guy that might be able to fix it. NEVER ended up fixing it or bringing it up again. As for the drywall, it is still messed up and you can see humps all over from the pop outs that were patched and then supposed to be sanded. As for the pictures of the joints, where the trim comes together, they were supposed to fill all seams so it is smooth and looks like one continuous board. You can see how horrible it looks. There's paint on our brand new cabinets and floors. Overspray that got on other areas and then not fixed. When they sanded an area to redo because there were drips they just left and didn't repaint so you see scratches. Almost every header above the doors had drips. They fixed some. In the contract it says that all trim is to be sprayed with a paint sprayer. After they had massive runs everywhere, due to keeping the exterior doors open to paint them when it's 87 degrees out and then rushing to paint the inside trim with primer and 2 coats of paint all within 3 hours so they can leave for the weekend, they took a roller and brush on several areas of trim to hide the runs. Now when you see them it looks super bumpy from the roller and has brush strokes and it doesn't look smooth from the sprayer. That's the whole point to using a sprayer, which is in the contract, so it has a smooth finish. They never mentioned it and didn't even sand it. It looks like crap. Another huge reason that they had to redo things is because almost EVERY that was filled on the trim sank in and they had to add more filler. We ended up finding out that the primer was the wrong product. Between that and the humidity, it made all of the wood swell showing grain that wasn't there originally and making the filled nails sink. We found this out after the master bedroom. They just sprayed primer that day and afterwards all the seams were raised and messed up. The guy kept admitting that his products were failing and he knew it was him, even though he has 30 years of experience, he said he quit because he had to keep redoing his mess ups. Gavin didn't even try to find someone else or fix his mistakes. The rest of my downstairs is left unfinished. So if you like rude workers, runs in your paint, finger printers, poor knowledge with products, and poor quality C&R painting is for you. One of the pictures shows where he threw a fit in front of my wife, because he didn't know why you could still see all of the humped up areas in the wall, and he very aggressively tried sanding it, tore the drywall, and then just left it and painted over it. It's been a nightmare and Gavin has been so unprofessional. Not to mention that he NEVER checked in on the project. We had to babysit his guys' work everyday because we would ask if something was going to get fixed and the guy would say yea and then it wouldn't. We're mainly upset because we were charged a few thousand dollars MORE because we specified that we wanted a really good job done. Our contract was thorough and has been broken so many times. BEWARE!!!!!
