For services on two occasions, I was in one case not told about the cost of a service provided (radiography) and in the other given an estimate off by nearly 200% (resin based restoration). I would not have gotten these services with this business had I been told the true cost. my bill remains the same despite an offer to remove the first charge, and they haven't made any offer for the duplicitous estimate. I did pay the full estimated cost for the filling restoration at the appointment (139.60). I need assistance coming to an equitable resolution.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/02) */ To Whom This May Concern, Please see attached documents regarding the complaint filed by ********* *******. Our practice makes it a policy to estimate insurance coverage for patients and as a courtesy we file claims in their behalf. With all estimate we clearly let patients know in writing ( see Financial Policy) and verbally that this is an estimate and if the insurance company contributes differently we will be the remaining portion. This was in fact the case with said patient. We always try to work out the details of this with patients to make payment comfortable and did so with *********. He made a decision that he was not planning to pay his balance placing him in default of the written/signed agreement. Conversations via email and over the phone took place to remedy this situation. We also made an attempt to make an small adjustment to the radiographs as a good faith agreement for the patient. He did not accept this. This patient has been with the practice since 2017 with no issues or complaints. Please see attached information. Glen Lake Dental provides good dental care, but it's billing department shouldn't be trusted. In my case, I received an estimate for out of pocket responsibility that was off by over 100%. It's a bait and switch practice, and if they're apt to do it once they are likely to do it to other patients. If you do choose Glen Lake Dental, do your due diligence and don't trust their billing department's estimates. The amount submitted to the patient's insurance was within our contractual fees agreement , nothing more. The following is per the patient's insurance contract- Payment / predetermination of payment of these services is determined in accordance with the specific terms of the subscriber's dental plan or with the terms of delta dental's agreements with delta dental network dentists. We cannot be held responsible for monies or percentage not covered by a patient's specific plan. The patient accepted monies written off per our good faith agreement ,in which we consider this matter to be resolved .
