We took a small dog named ****** emergency care it was on a Sunday, They would not look at her unless we gave them a credit card, and we were told the cost was going to be $1800.00 what choice did we have we could not let Chichi die. They also said ****** could spend the night at a hospital but that would cost $5000.She was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. At this point, we were so distressed over losing Chichi that we all felt was family to us, they indicated that the dog could be treated with medication and would probably be ok. We were told they took 1 # of water from her lungs and gave us $300.00 worth of pills to take home.****** did not do well over the night so we took her to her normal Vet he looked at her for one minute or less and told us how serious this was and the only thing they could do was put her down.He was appalled with the clinic that told us this had any hope at all. We now have $300.00 worth of pills that were never used and a total bill for the $1800.00 plus the Monday bill for the emergency appointment and the cost to put her down for another $500.00 Our complaint is the upfront $1800.00 cost when they had to know or should have known there was no hope at all and to take advantage of people in their most vulnerable time and give someone the choice of getting bilked out of $1800. or letting their cherished pet die. Most people would give their homes away to save their pets. It's an opportune time when they are so vulnerable to take advantage. Plus in our case, it was a waste of money and how many low-income people can afford to save their pets at these ridiculous prices? We complain of being deceived about our pet being able to be treated for something any Vet would know it could not. The $300.00 of worthless pills and the cost of going to another Vet. WE ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE AT A **** WHEN THEY DO NOT HAVE THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICES TO SAVE THEIR PETS.HOW DO WE PROTECT THEM?WHO STRUGGLE THROUGH THE *** WITH THE ONLY BRIGHT MOMENT IS THE **** THEY HAVE TO BE WITH THERE PETS.
