Servicing date started around July and is to be " completed" today 3/22/22. This company stated in txt messaging that they were more than capable of re routing our pellet stove exhaust and fresh air piping. We trusted there word. They ended up using gas hot water heater exhaust pipes and an accordion type pipe to go around plumbing. When I went up to do a cleaning I realized that suite was on the floor board above it in two locations. I then proceeded to get an expert to inspect the work. We then listed off everything that was wrong with the install and proceeded to write a paper explaining why this was done dangerously. We paid this company 1275.00 to have it done correctly and safely. When we brought this problem to the contracting company and told them that we were taking this off the bill they refused to deduct. They did meet us in the middle by deducting 50%..$637.50. However the work they've done has been completely unsatisfactory not to mention dangerous. I need help with what I should do. Bottom line if they told us we should outsource the pellet stove piping we would've done so ASAP and this wouldn't be an issue.

After receiving a quote for work we wanted done to our deck, we paid a deposit of $9500 on 5/29/21 to Northeast Contracting Service of NE. With all of the delays on services due to the impact of Covid-19, a start date of 7/14 was provided by NECNE. After removing all items from our deck. including the removal of our screen room, I texted them on the evening of 7/13 to confirm a start time, to be told that it was delayed and now scheduled for Monday. Again texted them the evening before to confirm start time. Next day they were checking and thought it would be the following day, then I was told now delayed 2-3 weeks. At this time, reaching anyone at NECNE was challenging, as responses to texts and phone calls were not timely nor consistent. We did get them to come out and look at an additional item we wanted to add to the job, and eventually received a new quote, which we approved. Still lengthy delays on responses and finally on 8/31 they came out to look at an exposed part of our house due to weather related rot. I asked about Dig Safe and they had not been called yet, nor had a building permit been pulled, both items that I feel should have been started once we sent them our deposit. (Eventually I had to contact our propane provider to come out and mark the gas lines so they could proceed) On 9/1 they had someone come out and demolish our existing stairs to the deck, but left the debris for a week until I called to have it cleared. They also left our deck with no stairs and did not block or tape off the actual deck, which stands 10' off the ground. Since 9/1 I have called, texted and/or emailed more than 20 times asking for updates and for someone to please call me and have a discussion. No one has returned any phone call, and responses to texts or emails only seem to happen when I request our money back. They have not offered to refund our money as requested, and the permit wasn't even requested until first of Oct. Bldg inspector says he is waiting for info.
